He hobbled into view. His blond hair hung into his eyes. His foot had a black boot on it.
Just like the one I had on my foot when I woke up after the accident.
" hi" I said trying to lighten up the mood in the room.
" seriously" he mumbled back." You felt like you had to go there."
" what? What do you mean? What did I do?"
" oh hahaha, nice one, very funny" he scowled." What didn't you do?"
" I'm not sure what your talking about?" I stated.
" idiot" I heard him mumbled under his breath.
" I am not an idiot!" I was ticked. " your the idiot"
" you are a bigger one"
" am not" I realized how stupid we looked. " we are not in kindergarten anymore"
" what does that have to do with anything?" He asked.
" we are bickering back and forth like we are five year olds!"
" your the one that started it." He said. My head was on fire.
" I Did Not Start It"
" a...... ya you did"
" how. Tell me how I started it." I said thinking I was right that I did not start it. But I
was wrong. Really wrong.
" ok, you want me to tell you what you did? This will be a long list." He snapped.
" bring it on" I said.
"YOU STARTED ATTACKING ME, AND MADE ME LOOK WEAK, THEN YOU
ALMOST BROKE MY ANKLE, AND I HAVE TO WEAR THIS FOR A WEEK, THEN
YOU GOT US STUCK HERE, IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, WITH NO ONE TO
TALK TO EXCEPT YOUR UGLY LITTLE FACE, NO HORSES, NO FUN, NO LIFE!" He
screamed at me. Just as he finished he hobbled out of the room to his bedroom. I heard
the door bang but Pop right open again. He slammed it again. Same results.
" dang on door" he muttered as he closed it softly.
Well that just made me realize what a horrible week I was going to have. I sat down on
the couch to watch tv, their was just one thing wrong. No tv. Why is their nothing fun to
do here? I guess we are supposed to bond with each other. No way. I read a Cabin Life
magazine. At least there was something to do. It was 12:45 by the time I when to bed.
My temporary bed was comfy when I crawled in. I closed my eyes wishing I could fall
asleep. Nope. Ugh.
I fluttered my eyes open. The room was dimly lit. I looked at the clock 6:23. My stomach
grumbled. I swung my legs over my bed and slipped on my bear slippers that matched a
brown robe that were here when I first got here. I went into the kitchen and grabbed a
granola bar. I sat on the couch and watched the sun rise.
I soon started to make breakfast for myself. I made some toast with peanut butter and
had a yogurt.
Cody came in the room around 11:52.
" why are you so loud out here?" He said. " I couldn't sleep."
" I wasn't loud. The toaster was on, that's all." I said back.
" ugh! It was really not the toaster. It was your chewing."
" oh my gosh! I can't here my own chewing, so you certainly can't here it over your loud
snoring!" I sassed back.
" I do not snore!!!" He yelled at me.
" would you like to see the recording I got?" I said. He dropped his crutches and sprung
at me. I leaped off the couch and tried to get away. I failed. He held on to my foot. I
pulled. His grip was way to strong.
" let go of me!" I demanded.
" ok. Have fun falling. "
He let go and I tumbled to the floor banging my head on the coffee table. I stood up,
head spinning, and flipped the very light couch over, sending him flying. I walked
around the couch to see him sprawled out on the floor. Passed out. Then I got an idea.
