The betrayer

Was I hearing correctly? Did he just say he would join them? No. Cody would never

betray us. Would he? I look around the trailer. Everybody looked confused, even hurt.

" did anybody else here that?" Chaser asked.

" ya."

" what  Cody said?" Piper asked.

" ya"

" they are just trying to trick us."

" ya. They want us to believe that so they can go and kill Cody." Jenna said.

" I hope so." Issac agreed. " Genevive? You ok?"

" I think so." I awnsered, even though that was a lie. I was cool on the outside but raging

on the inside. I mean, how could I be fine. My boyfriend, as some people would put it,

just joined the enemy. Just then the door opened and seven men looked in on us.

" you ready to begin a wonderful new life?" A gruff voiced asked.

" I don't think wonderful would be the word." Chaser sassed back.

" watch it punk." Another one snapped at Chaser.

" gosh" Chaser whispered.

" what did you say!"

" nothing."

" good"

" time to go." They said closing the back again. I hear the truck roar to life and begin to

move.

" so this is it." Chaser suddenly said after a few minutes of silence.

" what do you mean" Blair asked.

" this is it. I'm dead."

" your not going to die." Jenna responded.

" really! How do you know that? I have been in this program for about two years now.

They threatened to kill us everyday if we didn't behave like they wanted us to. You go to

sleep at night thanking the lord for protecting you through the day and not having you

or anyone of your friends killed. You never know when they will snap at you. You just

don't know." Chaser looked like he was on the verge of tears.

" oh,well they never killed anyone. Did they?"

" almost every one of my friends."

" oh. Sorry"

Awkward silence fell over the trailer until the truck pulled to a stop. Which was about 2

hours later. We heard voices outside the truck.

" bring the midgets to hallway 169 and put them in the last cell on the right. 36 I

believe."

" ok sir"

" ok. And John lead Cody down to his room. "

we heard  footsteps approaching. The door opened.

" let's go." They came into the trailer. One to each of us and grabbed our handcuffs and

pulled us out into the sunlight. We were in the middle of the woods and were getting led

to a little log cabin. How were we going to live in that? It was tiny. Then they opened the

door. Oh. Their was stairs going down. Then more stairs. More. Lots more. This cabin

was not so much wide but more down. We reached cell 36 after walking down 5 stair

flights. They shoved all of us in and took off our handcuffs. It felt good to get those

things off of me. I rubbed with wrists like the others were doing. Man it felt good. They

walked away without saying anything.

" well this is it." Chaser began. " our new bedroom."

" not the time Chaser"

" ok, ok"

I was sitting their when I saw Cody walk by. He backed up a few steps when he saw me.

He stopped level with me.

" hey." He said.

" really. You felt like you had to go there." I said back very agitated.

" what do you mean?" He said. I stood up and walked over to him. Our chests would of

been touching if it wasn't for the bars between us.

" you joined their side."

" I- I- I can explain-" he studdered.

" you betrayed us. You betrayed me." I cut him off. My insides were shaking but

surprisingly my voice came out calm. " I trusted you. We all did. I can't believe you. I

now know what everybody meant when they said you were a jerk. A liar. A betrayer. "

He looked hurt. I could see tears rolling down his cheeks. " they said that about me?"

" all of it. And every bit of it is true."

Everybody was watching us.

" I I I I I'm s s s so sorry" he said.

" I will never forgive you." I said as I lunged at him. I almost got a hold of his shirt but

he stepped back and I ran into the bars.

" fine then. " he said walking away. Then his walking turned into a jog. Then a run.

I fell to the ground balling. Everyone came over to me and sat by me.

" now I wish they would kill him."

Sorry for not updating for a while. My Wattpad wasn't working so I couldn't update. And I have been busy studying. I have had 6 tests in the last two days.
