the new girl

chapter six

as I pull into my driveway I remember,
I have dance today. A brand new studio and a brand new team.
I open the door and head into the kitchen for food. I grab some carrots and a bottle of water and head up to my room. As I'm working on my homework my phone buzzes. It's Tobias.
" hello?" I answer.
" hey tris!" Says Tobias
" hi!"
" hey are you doing anything Friday night?" He asks
" nope ."
" I was wondering, maybe would you wanna go see a movie?" He asks.
" I would love too!" I say
" great! I'll see you tomorrow."
And I hang up the phone.
The excitement makes me finish my homework.
I put my things back into my bag and get ready for dance.
I put on my lulu lemon shorts and sports bra and put a tank top over.
I say goodbye to my parents and head out to my car.
I drive up into the studios parking lot, Accent On Dance.
As I get out of my car I take a deep breath and smile.
When I open the studio doors I see a blonde hair girl with Brown eyes.
She turns around and looks at me and smiles, I smile back.
She soon walks over to me.
" hey! I'm kensey!"
" hi I'm tris." I say smiling."
" are you new here? To Accent On Dance?"
" yea I just moved here.!" I say
" oh well I'm glad because it's s really positive place, you'll love it."
" if you don't mind me asking, how old are you?" She asks
" I'm 16 but I'll be 17 in few weeks!" I say
" how about you?" I ask
" I'm 15" she says.
I smile, it's funny because in a way she actually looks like me.
As I enter the studio 2 with kensey there's only six other girls.
We all introduced ourselves.
And it comes to be my turn.
" um I'm tris, I'm 16 and my favorite movie is the perks of being a wallflower."
after we all introduced ourselves we start to warm up.
We stretch our splits and work on our turns .
" great class you guys, we will start learning our competition dances soon!"
