I had settled-in better over the next 2 weeks. I felt Hanna and I had become great roommates. We were in wait for a full week for a personal task to be authorized, then we had to wait another week till we could begin the operation.

In the mean time we had been getting news of the Enclave and Immortals beginning to push out offenses on each other. The Immortals seem to be taking the northern part of Idaho pretty easily with their air power. The Enclave had an easier time running into the more level terrain of south-eastern Washington and North-Eastern Organ. Because of this push, the US had decided to push up into Immortal territory as well to land grab.

Our need for an aircraft was denied till their campaign was finished. This took 2 full weeks until 1 was provided; and this is where we are now.

I walk into Hanna's and my apartment, I flopped on our bed after a day's worth of chores around the base, doing odd jobs to keep my pull. I didn't mind as I did the same thing back in the vault. I wore a one-piece baggy olive-green jumpsuit as it was loose, easy to move in, and comfy.

I hear the door open and my name being called right as I was getting comfortable, Hanna was home. I hear Hanna walk into the room and stop next to the bed, looked down at me as my head was turned in her direction.

I gently gave out a "Hello".

Hanna put her hands on her hips, "Lynne, we gottah get it goin' now. We got permission ta go negotiate with Arroyo, we need tah catch our ride in 2 hours. So getchya lazy ass up and les get ta thah armory."

"Whaaat? Today? I wana shower and relax." I say in protest.

Hanna pouts a bit with a huff. "I only bathe evereh 2 or 3 days; yall be fine for-ah single day!" She then grabs my arm and pulls me up.

I get up with a grumble and get onto my feet, then follow her out the door after putting my boots back on. Hanna was wearing her usual bomber jacket, but a heavy T-Shirt and military pants of some kind. The weather was starting to get a colder, and the wind chill really knocks me on my ass at times.

We walked out to the armorer and requested lighter gear then what we had the last few times. 'Officer level combat armor' which was just combat armor Mk.II with Velcro on its chest for an officer rank patch. As we aren't expecting to run into heavy combat, I asked something different; a Wattz-1000 Laser Pistol.

We were able to get the equipment faster as it was all low desired equipment. After we suited up, I followed Hanna out to our aircraft transpower, a VB-02 Vertibird. Upon boarding the aircraft there were 3 others; 1 in T-51B Power Armor, and 2 in combat armor mk.III.

As I settled into my seat the pop of the engine started the whine of the rotors, vibrations started to fill the cabin and the seats we were in. The 3 troopers were talking to each other as the aircraft spooled up to lift off. I couldn't help but stay silent and get a little sleep along the way to our destination.

I was woken up by Hanna with a shake of my shoulder; I had apparently fallen asleep on her shoulder. I couldn't help but yawn out loud and stretch my legs out hard and arms up high. I felt the aircraft gently plant itself on the ground. A moment later the rear of the Vertibird opens up and a cold rush of wind fills the aircraft, chilling my shins and shoulders.

I stand up and walk out the back of the aircraft to witness the sun past noon, surrounded by thin pine trees, cold air, and the sound of wind and birds. I stretch out again not knowing where to go next, so I waited for everyone to get ready. The thickness of the forest was thin, the heavy overcast sky was thick with darkening clouds. It felt perfect to me.

I get the order from Hanna to move along and follow the 2 men in combat armor both carrying R91s. The soldier forward-most of the group had a map out in his hand, looking down at it every 5 minutes. From the vertibird, we took about a 15 minute hike through a path in the forest, leaving behind the pilots to watch the aircraft. We turned off the footpath into what seemed like a year round caravan trail.

We reached a split in the road, left and right. We headed Left, to the West. Another short 5min hike and we reached a city wall, an open light double door gate with a small structure close by, and a sign that said 'Arroyo' printed directly onto the wall. The soldier up front folds up the map and puts it away in a mag pouch on his right hip. We follow the point man upto the the gate, next to a small structure.

The point man looks at the small structure that is to our right, then walks over to it. I look over to the building and see a man sitting inside of it, a sign on the outside of the box structure say 'Security check-in, visitors entrance.' I turn to approach the guard shack.

The man in the guard post stands up and mans his post, a slit in the wall with a window and a port under it. The guard was wearing Combat Armor Mk.II. We approach the port and the guard behind it.

The guard speaks up first, "Hello, what you needing here?" He says in a smooth voice.

Hanna walks up, and takes the lead. "Hey, were here to speak with the leader of the town." She says bluntly in a non-southern accent.

"Ya? You're the second group today looking to talk to him." The guard says before pausing, picking up a clipboard then continuing, "Alright, where did you come from and your name."

After Hanna submitted the simple information, the man writing down that information, then turning around and lifting a radio off the table speaking into it.

He turns back to the window and speaks through it to Hanna. "Alright, I have a guard coming over to escort you. Follow everything he says."

As I watch Hanna nod and she says 'understood', 2 men in a leather clad thick armor, armed with 10mm SMGs walked over to our party.

1 man spoke up, "Hello gang, I am Senior Deputy Aguirre. This man next to me is Deputy Ruesga. Follow me, keep your weapons down, if you cause any issues, we will shoot you on the spot. Don't wander off, or we will tackle you. If you make the elders mad, we exile you. Understand? Praise the Grand Elder... Lets go."

I kinda nodded in agreement as he turned around and walked back up the slight incline on the path, Hanna follows behind followed by our guard in power armor, holding his laser RCW pointed downwards, I followed behind him as the 2 other of our soldier in combat armor followed behind me. Guessing that Deputy Jason following us in escort from behind.

The escort walk took us through the city of Arroyo. The town was not as busy as the other towns iv traveled through, it was lacking in security in comparison as well. But the town guards are heavier armed. They had a good abundance of crop and every building was whole.

The walk took us past many roads, buildings, a large rounded building that I think is the town center, business store centers, another housing community. The further we walked the older but larger the buildings got. We got to a point that the buildings started having larger and larger curves on the corner points. We got to a building that looked like a large version of the smaller housing buildings; though covered with tech and corrugated pipes along down the side from the top. I thought it would be some kind of super command center for how much stuff was on the top.

Walking past 2 guards in combat around and sporting City Sweeper shotguns, walking into the building after the metal automatic door decompressed and slid open to the sides with a 'tiss' then 'shhoosh'. After stepping into what was a airlock system, the door closed behind us when we all were inside. The sharp sound of air sealing, then the air in the room was suddenly sucked out; this made me panic. But new air was pumped into the room from vents located on the top edges, filling it with fresh air. It must be a circulated filter system as it didn't smell or feel different.

The next door opened, and new fresh pre-regulated air slapped me in the face along with a very very conditioned environment system. The air was so clean, that it reminded me of the fresh forest air from my journey to Triad. The environment system kept the area at a good temperature. We followed the Senior Deputy down the hall and to the left, then down a longer hall, to a right. Rusega opened a door and took a step aside, Hanna walked forward and we followed. It was a meeting room with book shelves covering a wall, a terminal in the corner, and a holo system in the middle of an oblong table.

Sitting at the table shocked me. On 1 end of the table, there were 2 soldiers in black power armor with blue accents similar to the Enclave power armor. Then across the table from us, a man in combat armor Mk.1, a man in T-51B with Yellow accents, and; Claire. Then finally, 3 people in purple robes sitting on the other end of the of the ovular table. The robed person in the middle had a PPK12 Gauss Pistol laid infront of them, on the table. Then finally, leaving us a space on 1 side of the table with enough space between chairs to not mingle with the others.
