Narrator P.O.V

Diego angrily storms into the room where Luther and Five are talking and Grace is sleeping on the bed," Do you have any idea what you just did?"

Luther gets up before Diego can do anything to Five,"HEY get your APE hands off me!"

"You want to tell me what you're talking about?"

"Our brother has been pretty busy since his return, he was in the middle of that shootout at Griddy's , and at the Gimble Brothers. After the guys in the masks attacked the academy, looking for him."

"None of which is your concern,"snapped Five back.

"It is now, Naomi is in the hospital, her life and her baby's life at risk this very second."

Then Five's expression changed completely," Diego grab Grace, I'll meet you guys there."

Without another word, Five disappeared in a blue flash.

Naomi's P.O.V

Beep Beep Beep...

My eyes fluttered open only for me to close them, and let out a small groan, hissing in pain forgetting I was shot twice. I blinked again and my vision cleared up, and I could see Five sitting with a sleeping Grace on his shoulder, along with a sitting Diego.

"Good morning sunshine."

Everyone's head shot up and Five gently shook Grace awake, and I smiled softly happy that Grace was alright.

"Mommy!"

"Hey sweetie."

I kissed her forehead and looked at Diego and mouthed 'thank you' he smiled and gave me a brief nod, Five basically leapt into my arms carefully as possible,"I'm glad that you're okay, I'm so sorry this is my fault."

I smiled softly and ruffled his hair, "It's okay."

Then the doctor came in,"ah, I'm glad to see you awake. Luckily your boyfriend brought you here as quickly as possible."

I felt my face turn red and I opened my mouth to say something but I was interrupted," No fatal organs were hit, and your boyfriend said that you're pregnant," my breathe hitched preparing to hear the worst,"luckily the baby wasn't hit but we're going to make sure that the womb or the baby hasn't been affected in anyway."

I nodded numbly my heart pounding in my chest, and as the doctor left the room I started hyperventilating and ranting,"I'm such a bad mother, not only have I failed the first Ben but now-"

"Hey Naomi calm down, inhala, exhala."

I couldn't get my head straight, and I felt someone grab my hand and place it over their heart,"Naomi, everything is okay feel my heart beat and breathe to the beat."

I eventually calmed down but my mind was else where and I was wrapped in my thoughts. Then I felt a pair of familiar lips in mine, warm, soft and made me feel safe, I collected my thoughts and I stared at the person who kissed me. I breathed out,"Diego."

I smashed my lips back onto his, and I felt the familiar fireworks erupting,"alright, alright, alright, there's a child here, enough of the mushiness."

I turned to Five and stuck out my tongue at him," I'll remember that when you're cozied up with Delores."

He looked down red-faced and said no more, then teleported away, I smirked at triumph, winking at Grace who giggled and ran over to Diego and rested her head on his lap," she want's you to carry her."

Diego did just that but what he wasn't used to was Grace wrapping her arms around him all cozied up, and he just froze for a couple of seconds and then he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her forehead. I smiled at the sight and I felt tears falling from my face,"it's okay mommy you don't need to be sad."

"I'm not sad sweetie, I'm just a little emotional right now."

She stayed on Diego's lap until the doctor came in with the ultrasound machine and Diego sat down in the chair next to my bed, Grace still on his lap.

"Ms. Herschberger, I see your all fine and well, lets see what's going on with baby number two."

I adjusted the hospital gown so it was over my bump, and I grabbed Diego's hand and squeezed it out of fear, the doctor moved the wand looking for the baby I looked at her face that was full of confusion,"is there something wrong doctor?"

"No, nothing's wrong it's just that I swear the doctors where able to confirm your baby's alive and now- nevermind, he was hiding! Funny it was almost as if he where invisible! Probably hiding, but he looks good, maybe a little shaken up, I would just take it easy, but the womb looks okay, because the bullet didn't pass through I don't think it was able to do damage to the womb. You are a very lucky person Ms. Herschberger."

I nodded tears streaming down my face as I wiped them of my face I was able to let out the breath of air I didn't realize I was holding back. After I wiped the gel off my belly I burst out sobbing and started cradling my stomach,"you're okay Benny, you're okay, mommy's going to keep you safe."

I looked over to Diego who was looking at me with happy tears in his eyes, I opened my arms and hugged him tightly," we're okay Dee-Dee."

I grabbed the sides of his face and pressed my lips onto his the smile never leaving my face. I felt his hands go from my waist hesitantly moving to my stomach I grabbed his hands not breaking the kiss and moving them to the middle of my stomach. When we broke the kiss some tears had escaped and where cascading down his face I wiped them away my hands staying there,"I l-lov-,"Diego stuttered before lowering his head in shame. I grabbed his hands that were still on my stomach and kissed his knuckles," picture the word in your mind, you can do this."

He looked up at me his hands starting to shake,"I lo-ve you."

I gave him a motherlike smile and said," I love you too," then pressed my lips to his and we broke the kiss I added,"I'm proud of you."

Then for the first time since I saw him since the reunion he mustered a true smile, and all was well.
