For the rest of the day, you mostly stuck behind the desk. You were contemplating everything that you had thought about that morning and every thought you had when naptime rolled around and Moon came out. He had been so soft and gentle with you, probably because he heard what Oliver said.

Sun would give you hugs and words of encouragement any chance he got. Moon had been beyond gentle, trying to distract you with stories of funny incidents at the Pizzaplex. The longest they'd go without at least checking up on you was fifteen minutes. Peter had been pretty nice to you as well, taking most of the harder jobs and corralling the kids away from you whenever you weren't able to keep up a happy appearance.

By the end of the day, you were completely drained. You had taken a seat on the floor behind the desk, your knees pulled up to your chest and your head tilted back.

"You doin' okay there?" Peter asked.

"No," you said, staring up at the celling.

"Do you want me to take you back to your place?" he asked.

You violently shook your head. You didn't feel comfortable being in that house anymore.

"Hm... well, I don't think you're going to want to keep sleeping on the couch in my apartment. Maybe you can talk to Amanda and ask if you can stay with her?" he suggested.

"Maybe. I'll talk to her," you said.

You noticed Moon leaning over the desk slightly, watching you. You stood up, walking over to him and resting your arms on the desk as well.

"How are you feeling?" you asked.

"Am I allowed to cuss?" you asked.

"Just this once, Starlight," he said, smiling.

"Like absolute dog shit," you said.

He laughed and shook his head, ruffling your hair.

"Alright, I locked up the main entrance," Amanda said, walking into the daycare.

"Awesome. I'm gonna head home," Peter said, grabbing his stuff.

"What about (y/n)?" she asked.

"I'm not going back to that damn house. The only way to get me back is to drag my dead body there," you hissed.

"I said just once," Moon whispered in your ear, sending a shiver down your spine.

"They can't keep staying with me, not unless they want to stay on the couch," Peter said.

"I have a spare room. I've been looking for a roommate for a while and even if you don't stay for long, I'd really appreciate having someone around," she said.

"I'll take it. Anything is better than that house," you said.

"Sweet, we can go get your stuff from your house and bring it back to my place," she said.

"I'll go get your bag from my apartment and meet you guys there," Peter said.

You nodded and watched as Peter waved goodbye before leaving the daycare.

"Well, I shouldn't keep you too long if you're going to be moving. I'll see you tomorrow, (y/n)," Moon said, hugging you.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow. Good night," you said, hugging back.

You and Moon let go of each other after a minute. You went over to the last blanket left on the daycare floor and picked up Oliver, who was out like a light after snatching two Moondrops instead of just one. You and Amanda left the building, waving goodbye as you did. Walking out to her car, you buckled Oliver in the back seat before taking your seat in the front passenger seat. Amanda got in the car, starting it up and pulling out of the parking lot.

"Hey, Amanda?" you said.

"What's up?" she asked.

"How do you know if you like someone?" you asked.

She glanced at you with a look of slight shock before focusing back on the road. "Well, for me it's always been I feel safe around them and that I'm not worried about being myself. I also feel excited to see them," she said. As she stopped at a red light, she leaned over. "Sometimes I also start thinking some not so appropriate things."

"Ew! TMI!" you exclaimed, pushing her away and laughing.

She laughed as well, pushing you back. "But, in all seriousness, why do you ask?"

"I've just never known and started wondering if I actually have a crush on anyone at work. Like, it's never happened to me in the past so how would I know if it's happening now?" you said.

"So, do you think you actually like someone?" she asked.

"Hm... maybe. We'll see," you said.

The two of you continued to stay on the subject of love, either talking about experiences you had or weird couples you saw in high school. Eventually, you made it to your house. Surprisingly, Peter wasn't there yet. Then again, he had to get your stuff from his apartment first.

"Jesus, no offense, but this place looks like a haunted house. I wouldn't want to come back here, either," Amanda said.

"Yeah, I guess it does," you said, actually taking a good look at the house for once.

"Well, let's get inside and start packing," she said.

You nodded and the two of you got out of the car. You grabbed Oliver from the back, not wanting to leave him alone in the car. The two of you went inside, going straight for your room. You left Oliver on the bed, telling Amanda you were going to grab the suitcases.

You went to Bill's room, remembering him saying that he kept the suitcases in his closet. Hesitantly opening the door, you crept inside. You avoided the bed like a plague, not being able to shake the feeling that he was hiding under it. You rummaged through the closet, pulling out two large suitcases. Bingo. You took one last glance around the closet, noticing some albums stacked on the floor. You crouched down and inspected the sides. They were baby albums, but they looked too new to be Bill's. You took the one on top, flipping to a random page. It was you. These were your baby photos. You flipped through the other album, finding more photos of you.

You took the books and suitcases with you as you walked back to your room. You'd look through them later.
