Y/ns chest rose and fell quickly as Victor stared at her with icy eyes.
"what the hell are you doing?" he grumbled.
trying to search for an excuse, one that wouldnt let him know she had already visited the room earlier, she paused.
obviously displeased, victor turned, locked the door, and strode up to her.
"come with me." he ordered.
a large hand was extended. Y/n declined it and got up on her own. Victor didnt spare her a glance before he was walking down the hall, opening up a large door to expose a very neat interior.
this was his office right?
she walked inside with him, letting the door shut loudly behind her. victor glared one more time and took a seat behind his desk.
"sit." he said.
y/n quickly obeyed, and refused to meet his eyes.
"you never answered my question." he replied.
she glanced at him. the room was large. with a roaring fireplace, walls lined with books, deep red drapes over the windows, a plushy black carpet laying over the polished floors. various antiques and paintings were hung around the walls. everything in complete order.
except for his desk. it was a mess of books, scrolls and journals. quills and ink pots scattered around the surface aswell.
"hello?" he said sharply.
y/n turned to him, letting whatever excuse spew out.
"i wanted to let you know i was going swimming." she said.
victor rested his chin on his fist.
"and why did you feel it neccessary to barge in on me?" he asked.
"i-i didnt think, i just heard your voice." she said.
victor continued to stare, then he shifted some papers around on his desk.
"can you read?" he asked.
that was a... complicated answer. Y/n attended school for three years. in it, she learned the bible, sight words, and things that would help her on the farm. however, wanting to avoid ridicule she nodded. biting her lip.
"good, i have some work left, itll be done faster if you help me out, i want you to read this, underline any numbers or payments being asked for, and copy them down. once your done, we can go swimming." he said.
"we?"
y/n was less inclined to swim with him. he just gave a curt nod, and pushed a stack of white papers towards Y/n.
she found an ink pen, took out another peice of paper, and started with the first sentence. it couldnt be difficult.
'part A is recquired to complete this transaction two-fold should Party A inadequetly perform the various tasks outlined by Party B and Party C during part 10023.'
the most Y/n could read out of that was party A party B and party C. she glanced at victor, who was writing, and scribbled down the random numbers that were on the paper.
'however in the even party B or party C nullifys the agreement set forth by...'
the words jumped together, she scanned the page and wrote down four other sets of numbers.
this went on for what seemed like forever, it wasnt until Victor set down his pen and sighed that she stopped.
"have you finished?" he asked.
