Changing birth control was not something that Blake found particularly exciting. May 1st she got her new prescription. She'd had an internal that she did not have to remember. Now she was shifting over to something a bit less long term. She'd gotten her prior removed, and now she was getting a shot. The reason for the removal was as simple as it running its course. Blake had gotten it after her breakup with Kiefer the first time. She might not have bothered, but the doctor asked. They liked to ask that sort of thing, she supposed.
So, you've had a baby, now what can we do to make sure you don't go having another one? Preference? We're very invested in you not having a baby. Or sex. Don't do that. Its fine, you'll be too busy hurting and crying to want sex, but we just really want to make sure.
It had been a weird time. Fortunately for Blake's gynecologist there was no chance for sexual contact. The implant had worked and come in handy once she did get back with Kiefer, but now it was time for something new. Kiefer didn't want another baby until after they got married, and that was fine. Blake needed to focus on Zelda, Pink Slip, and Kiefer, not necessarily in that order. A new baby would only complicate things. She still wanted birth control, but she wanted to try another option.
Blake showed up for her shot and received the injection while her small daughter played with a couple of dolls in the corner. It did feel weird taking a child to a pregnancy prevention appointment, but it needed to be done. Kiefer was booked for work, his parents were not fond of Blake currently, and other people were busy.
The procedure wasn't terrible though. Besides minor pain, Blake didn't feel any differently. She was scheduled for another appointment in three months, and everything seemed good to go. She scooped up Zelda and headed home so she could check in with her fiancé.
