I was nothing more then someone in your background.
Even if you'd stop and stare every once in a while.
Except this 'every once in a while' was everyday.
You'd stare for a few minutes, shake your head then turn away.
I decided to ignore you.
So you'd fade into my background like I did into yours.
Except you can't fade into my background.
I always knew you were there.
A background character that people adore.
A background character making their debut.
Either in my show or someone else's.
