The paramedics were rushing Kate into the building as one of them was desperately trying to re-stabilize her. JJ closely followed behind. JJ whipped out her cellphone and dialed Hotch's number.
"Pick up, pick up." JJ whispered to herself as she scurried down the hall following the crowd of paramedics.
The only answer she got at the other end was Hotch's voicemail.
"This is SSA Hotchner, sorry I can't get to the phone right now please leave a detailed message at the beep and I'll get back to you as soon as I can."
Tears had now started to gather in JJ's eyes as they rolled Kate into surgery. JJ sat down in the waiting room for a good 20 minutes before her phone started to buzz. She looked at the screen hoping it would be Hotch. She unlocked her phone and read the name across the top of the screen. The name read : Will. As JJ was reading the message she became teary-eyed. She then replied to the message and placed her phone back on the small coffee table in the waiting room. Another 10 minutes passed by before she decided to dial Hotch's number again. The phone rang and rang over and over again with yet again no response. She then tried Rossi's number and got no response. JJ took a minute to think.
"Should I call Garcia? She's probably my best bet. But I don't want her to freak out."
JJ sighed before dialling Garcia's number.
"Garcia." Stated the other end of the call.
"Thank god." JJ whispered to herself before speaking up so Garcia could hear.
"Garcia it's JJ."
"JJ! I was so worried you never made it in to work today. Are you alright?" Garcia asked hesitantly.
"Yeah I'm fine. I need to talk to you though."
"I have a question for you first."
"Ok. What is it?" JJ asked with concern.
"Kate never showed up for work today. We tried calling her house and Chris picked up. He said she left for work today after she spoke with Meg."
"I know. That's what I needed to talk to you about."
"Meg's missing JJ."
JJ took a moment to gather her thoughts.
"What do you mean Meg's missing?" JJ asked hesitantly.
"She's gone. Chris can't find her. We were called in this morning about a case where 4 girls who look exactly like Meg have gone missing and were found dead 2 days later. I'm worried it's the same guy JJ." Garcia shed some tears.
"Garcia I need to tell you something. I need you to listen to me. Kate and I are at the hospital. She was hit by a truck on her way in to work today. She's in surgery." As these words slipped from JJ's mouth you could hear both women crying. JJ heard the door on Garcia's end fly open.
"Hey baby girl." she heard Morgan say.
