Kate's eyes were now red and puffy from all the crying. JJ sat down on the bed and tried to comfort Kate as much as she could. Penelope walked in the room with tears streaming down her cheeks. JJ gave Garcia a hug and they both sat down on each side of Kate's hospital bed.
"I know what you're going to say." Kate said staring at the two blondes.
"Derek had no reason to say that. He was just angry and upset." JJ said while trying to comfort Kate some more.
"I get it. But I just can't remember I'm sorry." Kate stated.
"It's fine Kate. We'll figure something out." Garcia said.
"I'll be right back." JJ said as she stood up and left the room.
"Um excuse me." JJ said to a nearby nurse.
"Yes?" The nurse responded.
"I was just wondering when a patient named Kate Callahan is able to be released." she said.
"I was actually just about to go release her." The nurse said as she peered into JJ's eyes.
"Alright thank you." JJ said as she followed the nurse back into Kate's room.
"I have some good news." said the nurse as she walked into the room as JJ followed.
"I'm able to release you today." The nurse continued.
The nurse then filled out the release forms and sent the women on their way. The three women gathered into the car. Before JJ could start engine Kate had said something.
"I wanna see it." she said almost as if she was delusional.
"What?" Garcia asked.
"See what?" JJ questioned.
"Take me there. I need to see it. See where Meg was taken." Kate explained.
"Alright." JJ stated as she turned on the car engine and took off in the direction of Kate's house.
They reached Kate's house and everyone stepped out of the car. JJ and Garcia walked towards the door as Kate stopped in her tracks. She took a moment to gather her thoughts and then proceeded into the house following the two blondes. JJ and Penelope looked at Kate sympathetically when she walked through the door. She met their gaze and then put her down to look at the floor. Kate walked upstairs and into Meg's bedroom while JJ and Penelope waited downstairs in the living room. Kate entered Meg's room as tears started to gather in her eyes. She walked around the room and began to look at Meg's things. Kate then sat down on Meg's bed where she began to cry. Tears streamed down the side of her face as she tried to wipe each one away. She got up and walked over to the windowsill where the unsub had entered the house. She then noticed spots of blood on the ground and imagined the worst possible outcome. Kate walked over to Meg's desk and picked up a vase. She then threw it to the ground. She picked up another and threw it to the ground as well. Crying, Kate fell to the ground, hands covered in her own blood.
Downstairs JJ and Garcia had heard all the commotion and ran up the stairs. They ran up to the door and tried the handle. Kate had locked the door. All JJ and Garcia could hear from the other side was endless sobs.
"Kate open the door!" JJ started yelling. Both women were screaming at the top of their lungs while banging on the door. Suddenly the sobs ended as they heard a thud.
