Five Years Later
Author's POV
Amar and Jimin were sound asleep when Amar felt a small weight crawl onto the bed. She slowly opened her eyes to see Joah beside her, with Noah helping Koah climb up. A soft smile spread across her face. Quietly, she nudged Jimin awake to share the sweet moment.
"Jimin, jimin, look."
"Look at what?"
"Here, come see."
"Oh, my boys are here!" Jimin grinned, sitting up and pulling each one onto his lap by their little legs. Then, he started tickling them, filling the room with their joyful laughter.
"They're walking now and helping each other—I'm so proud of you all," Amar said, kissing each of them, including Jimin.
"Alright boys, Mommy and Daddy need to get ready for work. Go wash up and get ready to meet your friends," Jimin announced as he gently placed them back on the floor to crawl away.
"No, boys—remember the rules! This bathroom is Mommy's and Daddy's only. Yours is downstairs," Amar reminded. The little trio lined up obediently.
"Oh, Jimin, I still can't believe they're five already," Amar sighed.
"I can. Remember those sleepless weeks when they were newborns? It was like a juggling act—Joah asleep, Koah awake, Koah asleep, Noah awake, and so on," Jimin said, pulling Amar into a hug.
"How could I forget? I was so drained, I gave up breastfeeding like a worn-out cow," Amar joked.
"And don't forget when we interviewed Ms. Luna—that was a whole other adventure."
"Was I really that tough?"
"Yes! Who else would make the girl carry all three babies at once?"
"I was testing her, and she passed with flying colors. That's why she's still here."
"How's your show going?" Jimin asked.
"Good, though some models are always asking for raises. It's not like I don't give them raises, but still... How's your recording?"
"Perfect—just like you. When are you finishing work tonight?"
"Maybe eight or nine," Amar said as she splashed water on her face.
"Then don't come home," Jimin teased, brushing his teeth.
"Planning to meet your girlfriend?" she teased back, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Nene's hilarious. Meet me at our place—it's been a while since we had a proper date."
"Got it. Want me to bring anything?"
"Nope, I'll take care of everything. I'll tell Luna, too."
"Perfect," Amar smiled as Jimin headed off, already changed and ready.
Amar changed too, then went downstairs to dress the boys for the day; the driver would soon arrive to take them to daycare.
Suddenly, she heard a sharp scream.
She hurried, holding Noah close.
"What happened?" she gasped, finding Jimin's hand bleeding heavily. He clutched a knife while Joah tugged it, causing the cut. Koah was crying on the floor.
"Amar, take him! He was playing with the knife," Jimin said without caring about his bleeding hand.
Amar gently removed the knife from Joah's grasp and tossed it into the sink. She gathered the three boys and took them back to their room, turning on the TV to calm them down, then went upstairs.
