"What are you reading?" Taehyung curiously peeks over Seojoon's shoulder at the book in his lap. "Demonology-what?" the male gapes at his friend's choice in entertainment.
"It's an interesting topic. And there's some rituals here too, not that I'm going to do anything but it's still intriguing to read up on demons and such," Seojoon points to a page that mentions summoning an incubus or succubus demon. The topic piques Taehyung's interest but he quickly tosses the thought from his mind.
The two spend a few more hours in the library, reading and chatting before deciding to head home. Taehyung hugs his friend goodbye and they walk in opposite directions to their homes. Taehyung, however, stops when he gets a block away from the library. The memory of the demonology book Seojoon was reading earlier is still stuck in his brain, more specifically the incubus ritual.
After mentally debating about it for a couple minutes he spins around on the balls of his feet and marches back to the building. He knows it won't take long because he knows exactly where he's going and what he wants.
Taehyung, instead of using his library card to take the book home, simply snaps pictures of the pages involving the ritual, its explanation, ingredients and method.
Once finished he places the book back on the shelf. He reads through the ingredients on the way home and decides to stop by the store to buy a few of the items he doesn't have at home.
'Why am I doing this?' It's not like it's actually going to work?' these thoughts float around through his mind as he walks down the aisles, stopping every so often to pick what's necessary.
"Black candles, basil, smoky quartz crystals... I already have that," Taehyung mumbles to himself. Having taken an interest in crystals and their properties, he already has dozens of different kinds of crystals at home.
After retrieving what he needs, Taehyung heads home, head full of doubt and confusion as to why he's doing this in the first place. Sure he's severely touch-starved, but resorting to summoning an incubus? Something was definitely wrong with him.
He sets the things he bought on the kitchen counter, taking them out and lining them up on the cool marble surface.
"I'll have a shower first," he says to himself.
An hour later Taehyung is seated on his couch, leg dangling over the edge as he reads the instructions to the ritual.
After a few moments of hesitation, the male moves to gather the necessary ingredients and begins the methodology. He moves the coffee table out the way to give him more room to work, he draws the symbols as indicated, gathers the herbs, lights the candles and so on. Once it is all completed Tae plops himself back on the couch pondering on his current situation.
What will he do if this actually works? Or worse, what if it goes wrong and the demon turns out to be vengeful and hateful? He doesn't exactly know how to banish a demon. But according to the text, as long as he sticks to the spell and chant given it should only be the incubus that appears.
"Don't think. Just do," Taehyung says to himself. Any more delays and he'll just back out. "It's all for fun anyway. It's not like anything is actually gonna happen," he convinces himself. The text says that a piece of his DNA is required, anything will do but blood works best. The DNA is to allow for an incubus best 'suited' to him to be summoned and for a strong attachment. A demon that will embody the traits the summoner finds attractive in a partner. Seems a bit too far-fetched for the male but he already made up his mind to go through with it.
Since only a drop of blood is required he decides to use a needle to prick himself. "What am I doing?!" Taehyung gasps to himself as he watches the crimson liquid pool on the surface of his skin. This is madness. He's officially lost his marbles. But it's too late to back out now, he doesn't want to have done all this for him to simply back out.
