TW: mentions of whipping and inflicting harm

-

Six years passed.

Six years of Taehyung laying motionless in that glass coffin. Jeongguk refused to bury him. Everyone else tried to convince him that there's no hope of his lover ever waking up.

The demon visited his slumbering beauty everyday. He would speak to Tae as if he were actually listening. He would pretend that Taehyung was only sleeping and would wake up any minute. It was the only way for Jeongguk to prevent himself from being consumed by his grief.

For centuries he chased after Taehyung. Watching him die over and over, burying him again and again. But it was bearable because, in a way, he'd forgotten what it was like to spend his days with the male. Now that he'd replenished his craving for Taehyung's company, now that he's reminded of what it was like to live by his side and once again have him snatched away, Jeongguk can barely handle it.

He never left Taehyung's body unguarded. If he had to leave his home for some reason or the other, one of his friends would be watching over him. No one pointed out his paranoid behaviour, they knew what Taehyung meant to him.

Today, like any other day, Jeongguk enters his dead-silent house. Kicking off his shoes at the entrance, he immediately marches up the stairs, towards Tae's room. Gliding across the corridors of his impressive house, he makes the last turn.

He'll tell his love about his day. Maybe tell him about that funny wraith he saw earlier that lost his eyeball in a fight. He'll also tell him about how he laughed today. It wasn't for very long but Jeongguk had laughed a bit. That was major progress. He knows Taehyung would be proud of him.

Pulling the door open, the demon steps into the marble room he had fashioned just for Tae.

"I'm back, my love. You'll never belie-" Jeongguk stops dead in his tracks. At first the initial shock hinders any form of response.

After a few seconds he begins to feel wild panic coil in his gut. "Tae? There's no way. No no no no," the demon starts pulling at his hair as his eyes furiously dart around the room for any sign of who did this.

There in the center of the room, the glass coffin is shattered and Taehyung's body is gone.

A ferocious roar echoes throughout the room. "WHERE IS HE?!"

He barrels out the room, racing down the corridor to...where? He has no idea. All that's driving him right now is untamed rage and panic.

Those bastard angels. How could they have gotten here? There's no way! It had to be from the inside, but none of his friends would ever do that! So how???

"Jeongguk! What happened?" Namjoon races up the stairs, startled at his friend's outburst.

"YOU!" Jeongguk slams into him shoving him against the wall. "You were supposed to be watching him!! How could you let them take him away from me! I specifically told you never to leave his side when I'm away!!" Jeongguk yells in his face. By now his eyes have been consumed by a charcoal black veil, his horns protrude menacingly from his head and his fangs have descended.

"Jeongguk. Calm down! He hasn't moved in years so I'm sorry if I didn't feel it necessary to sit there for hours until you return," Namjoon flashes his fangs right back. He loves Jeongguk but he will not be pushed around by his younger friend.

"Tell me what has you in this state?" the male keeps his tone gentle so that he doesn't aggravate the other.

"Go and look for yourself," he growls. "Once you understand the situation you need to call everyone and get them on board." Jeongguk leaves it at that and hurls himself down another corridor in a blind search for any clues as to where Taehyung might be.
