My brother, as harsh as he is, has always been very protective of me. I was never aloud to hang out with guys. I was never aloud to go to parties. I was never, ever, aloud to have a boyfriend.
Billy couldn't stand my friendship with Adam. His blood would boil at the mention of his name. So, I would have to lie, essentially, when I would hang out with Adam. I would use a code name, Lorraine. When it came to Billy, Lorraine was my best friend.
One day, when I was supposed to hang out with Lorraine, Billy had finally grown suspicious.
"I'm going over to Lorraines. I'll be home later." I informed my brother on my way out of the house.
"Lorraine, yeah?" He asked.
"That's what I said." I answered the seemingly un-fooled boy.
"How come I've never met this, "Lorraine"?" Billy had asked.
"She doesn't go to our school, I told you that. I met her at the library." I explained.
"You know, y/n, I thought by now you'd know better than to lie to me." Billy growled. "You're not going."
"That's not your say, Billy." I tested him.
"The hell it's not." Billy defended. "I look out for you, okay? No one else in this world looks out for you the way I do. No one gives a shit about you, but me. You think any of the guys out there are going to respect you let alone love you? No. They look at you like meat."
"You've never given any of them a chance." I told him.
"I don't need to. You are just another slut on this god forsaken planet who will never be loved." Billy spat. "You're not lovable."
"No, Billy, you're wrong. I think it's you who will never be loved. Your a condescending douche bag who doesn't care about anyone but yourself. You want to pretend like you do all of this shit because you care about me but really it's because you're hurting. You're hurting, Billy. You hurt so you want to make everyone around you hurt. You want to make me hurt."
Billy slapped me across the face, cutting off anything else that would have come out of my mouth. I winced at the pain.
"Now, tell me the truth." He said.
"I'm going out with Lorraine." I stuck to my story, only to get slapped again, harder.
"Quit with the bullshit, y/n." He growled angrily.
"Why do you do this, Billy? Why do you take all of your pain out onto me? What did I ever do to you?" I asked him.
"You exist." Was all he said.

We were in Steve's car and Dustin had told us that Dart had grown drastically in size.
"Wait a second, how big?" Steve asked the boy.
"He went from this..." Dustin referenced a small size with his fingers before referencing a bigger size with both hands. "To this."
"Dude, I swear it's just a lizard." Steve said.
"It's not a lizard." Dustin argued.
"How do you know?" Steve asked.
