Dakota

The sight of my mate cooking was something out of a dream. The man managed to look so put together and handsome even with the heat and spices of the kitchen. I hadn't seen him shed a single tear while cutting up his onions, or flinch when he was cutting pepper and accidentally licked his fingers.

"I must say, I could get used to the sight of you in the kitchen." It took me a moment to realise what I had said, I flushed, my neck warm in this already heated space and I was thankful that he chuckled.

"I'm very expensive, sir. If you want a private chef it's gonna cost ya."

"We'll have to taste the food first, yes?" He laughed, nodding.

"Fair enough." He looked at me and I looked at him. The feeling was overwhelming and good, I was filled with so much feeling from his stare alone that I wondered what he felt as he kept my gaze. "Uh-" he blinked and furrowed his brows before smiling. "I think we can start setting the table." I nodded and saluted him which made him chuckle and shake his head.

"I swear I heard him this morning." I Hauser as I caught Keegan whispering to Trevor in the other room. "He was all "oh, Dakota!" We should do something."

I flushed then and glanced at Terrence who was oblivious to the conversation happening in the other room and the fact that I could hear it.

"Is that why you invited both of us?" I could hear the amusement in Trevor's voice.

"Well, yeah, I mean, I missed you, and I also think my friend needs to get laid, by your cousin." I choked on my own saliva and their laughter could be heard.

I felt heat and sparks on my back as Terrence's scent washed over me. I looked up at him wide eyed and covering my mouth as he rubbed my back.

"You okay?" He asked me, his eyes searching mine and for a moment I was taken aback. The conversation I had just heard and his proximity had my mind going to other places and I swallowed and nodded weakly as I felt a part of me swell at the sight of his veined hand which he used to lean into the counter with and the awareness of his other still rubbing into my back.

I was breathing deeply and I had to step back and chuckle awkwardly while hoping my bulge wasn't noticable. "I'll-uh- go see the table." I looked away from him afraid he'd see it, my desire for him and how much I agreed with the conversation he didn't even know took place.

At the sight of my cousin and his mate I glared and he was smirking because he knew I heard everything.

Dick.

You're welcome. I rolled my eyes then and quickly set the table.

Soon enough we were all seated around one another and the food was served along with a wine my cousin had made sure to bring.

Conversation was light and funny, Terrence wasn't saying much but he was listening and laughing. It was so different from how it was when it was just the two of us.

His cooking was definitely good, so much that I would definitely have him cook for me everyday if I could. That's a nice dream to have.

"Still wanna hire me?" He leaned over to ask as I practically licked my plate clean.

"At this point, I wanna live with you." I meant it and he laughed, I was glad he didn't see right through me but also mildly hoping he'd feel the same soon.
