Terrence
I was impulsive and there was no regret about it.
For some reason Keegan kept staring at me as though he knew my secret. It wasn't like I was ever an overly affectionate person in public so there was no way he already picked up on what happened. I myself still wasn't sure what had happened.
Dakota gave me my plate, a soft sweet smile as he kept my eye and I returned it, thankful as chatter around us went on and the breakfast set up was practically serve yourself.
Keegan was smirking at me the whole time until I made a face at him to tell me what's up and he just nodded at me, his eye on my neck and I reached for it. I took my phone then and my eyes widened. There was a big red angry mark on my neck for everyone to see and I groaned while Keegan laughed.
I looked at Dakota and narrowed my eyes while he widened his own in confusion. I squinted at him. "What is it?" He murmured close to me.
"My neck." I stated simply and he looked, I watched as his tan skin dusted pink before he bit his lower lip and I just shook my head. "This means I have to get you back."
He looked at me, his eyes moving from one to the other and he seemed to grow almost shy. "Oh."
"Oh? That's all you'll say?" I chuckled.
"Is it a promise?" I sucked in a breathe at his innocent questions, he looked at me from beneath his eyelashes and I knew right then and there. I liked a vixen.
The day progresses well and then finally my dad arrived to the whole thing. The man was a big burly man in flannel and a fully fledged beard. He was a giant compared to most people and he was often described as scary when in reality he was the biggest softy I'd ever met.
"Dad!" I stood without pause heading right for the man who outstretched his arms for me.
"There he is, my boy, it's about damned time."
I laughed as he slapped any back. "Nice to see you too." I felt my heart squeeze at the sight of him and slowly everyone else was trying to get a squeeze from him Keegan always loved my dad's hugs for a reason.
"Dad, this is Trevor and Dakota, they're cousins."
"Your cousin's?" He asked me with furrowed brows and I laughed shaking my head.
"To each other."
"You got issues man, you gotta learn how to talk straight." Dakota laughed at this, standing straight and reaching to shake my dad's hand who only brought him in for a hug. "Dakota, Keegan's been tellin' me all 'bout you, you really do look like a puppy."
Both Dakota and I looked at Keegan who only winked and shot his fingers at us. "Trevor, heard this your engagement party." The boy looked at Keegan who shook his head and puckered his lips while examining his nails. Trevor beamed at my dad after and they hugged. "I need me a cold one."
It was nice to finally see my dad, he was well and lively which I was thankful for. He didn't ask me about my ex and he didn't seem at all worried about me in any sense. He seemed to really like Dakota. The two hit it off in a way that I didn't want to think of, it was too soon to consider their relationship being anything more than my dad meeting a new friend I had just made.
