Terrence

I wasn't sure what to do with myself, however, I felt even more clingy of the man despite what I'd found out he was.

Dakota kept glancing at me as he moved around the kitchen later that day as though expecting me to suddenly run or burst into tears. Honestly, in my mind, I was still trying to piece everything together.

Werewolves were real and they lived among us. People with the ability to change from man to wolf and back again.

"So, is everyone like as small as you?" I suddenly asked tapping my fingers on the counter and leaning my chin on my other hand. If they were, it wouldn't be hard to not be afraid and also that meant they could blend in in public.

"No, even for an omega I'm much too small. Our Alpha is like the size of a bear." My eyes widened and I tried to imagine what that would look like before slowly nodding. "Most Omega's are the size of regular wolves that aren't werewolf."

"I see. So why are you so small?"

He shrugged as he dished out the Mac 'n Cheese he made for us, I noticed he gave me more than himself which made me chuckle.

"It's more of a gene thing I guess, my mom's  an Omega and she's also just as small as me."

He slid the bowl over to me and stayed seated on the other side of the counter and I stared at him. "Aren't you gonna move?" He blinked at me, his fork half way up to his mouth.

"Where?" I nodded my head to beside me and gave a pout and he offered me a smile before rolling his eyes and moving around to sit next to me, I smiled and reached over to run my hand over his back, wishing it wasn't covered by his shirt.

"So, if you exist, does that mean other-" I mused to myself, spinning my fork in the air. "-special people exist?"

He snorted and looked at me as he chewed. "Special?" I shrugged not sure what else to call all of them as an umbrella term. "The supernatural world, Terrence, is filled with more than you think and I don't want to overwhelm you."

"Try me." I put my fork down in my empty bowl and turned to him fully and he sighed.

"Well, vampires, other kinds of animal shifters exist. They aren't as many, but they are there. Magic, you know, witches, are a thing too. They blend in much easier so we never know they are there unless they tell us."

"Wow." My brows rose and he nodded before collecting our dishes and standing to put them in the basin where he ringed them first and then turned to me. "So, do they all, you know, live in packs?"

He smiled and nodded, "you could say that. They call it different things of course, witches refer to their groups as covens, Panthers live in herds, the works."

I nodded as I processed and laughed at the ridiculousness of it all. "Do they all have-" I stood and went over to him, my hands going to either side of him on the counter and trapping him there, "-mates, as you called it?"

He sucked in a breathe, his eyes searching mine. "I can't really say. We wolves were blessed by our goddess with these bonds, almost as her way of making our lives better, once upon a time." He licked his lips and his hand came to my chest, his finger on my exposed chest as my shirt wasn't buttoned all the way. "After we reach 18, we can identify mates, their scent is intoxicating, more prominent than everyone's, when we touch it's like-" he shook his head as though in a daze and I moved my hand to rest on his arm because he wore a short sleeved shirt. The electric feeling was there. "-like magic, sparks that are just so addictive," I smiled at that. "And when we look at them," his eyes bore into mine. I felt calm, like everything was right and good and nothing else mattered but us. "Our minds are clear, life just makes sense, they just make sense. The special people, as you put it," he smiled, his eyes flashing glee and amusement and I chuckled. "They don't all describe it the way wolves do, so I can't say. The way our mating has been made, not every species of supernatural experiences it the same."
