Chéri <3
—————————————————————————
One more drink and the knife will slice my throat. One more time until my ghost has given up. This time I'll taste the blood that will run down my chin. Throwing up over the vile feeling of it dripping down my skin. You cupped my cheek soft and the bruises you left say you love me. You said they made me look beautiful and owned, of course by someone that doesn't have a heartbeat. I breathe a simple breath and it alerts you of my presents. I sing a soft song for your enjoyment. You tilt your head and smile in the most menacing loveable way. The deadly look of passion in your eyes will never keep me away. The way you draw me closer and closer without a single touch. You fell from heaven and didn't want to get back up. You took a leap of faith, or so you say, but if someone like you chose to escape heaven, then they must be blind to the love you feel today.
I'll take another step back and feel you behind me, you'll help me fall rather than catch me. You grip my throat close to your chest, draw your nail over my artary of blood and drink it all up. Gulp in my ear and shudder your breath. Kiss me until I'm dead. Frail and weak in your arms you take one last touch, fill my body back up with love. Bring me back to life and save me from yourself. Smile and say you love me like no one else. Take the time to dress me up and hang me off your arms. Wear your clothes that are covered in my blood and throw them in the washer to dye the rest red.
Different colours on different days, I have to pay attention to see what you need me to say. If I say something wrong a knife pressed against my throat, maybe blood that you'll drink up and then sew the cut. If I'm right you'll smile, a real smile. One only I've seen. A smile bright but small, something that means so much to me. Sometimes I love being wrong, the knife leads to a messy mind. You fill me up with love and never leave an empty spot in my body, you know how love works, for the most part. You understand that falling in love means being with someone till the end. You could look me in the eye and promise me a thousand words. I'll never see your crossed fingers, even with them crossed over my chest.
"With a cherry on top" I made the promise of a lifetime to you, everytime I look at you I see the unknowing evil that rests behind your innocent eyes. Your smile, as sweet as the strawberry gloss you put on your lips. Your hands, as red as the pomegranate juice spilling down your chin. Smirking to the side, I'll surrender. I'll let you win.
