Around an hour after our water fighting incident, all of the class gathered around the fire which was slightly aglow. We were waiting on Yukio giving us instructions of how to accomplish the task he was setting us.

"Okay, this forest is filled to the brim with mid-level demons. Within the forest, there is one demon that will try to personally attack you and will come hand in hand with your fears. This is to get you used to dealing with being scared on missions. After defeating it, the demon will leave behind a blank slip of paper which you need to bring back here to me in order to pass. If anyone is in serious danger, have your phone at hand and there is a lighter to set off these," he said and handed us each our equipment. Everyone seemed to be unfazed by the task at hand but I on the other hand felt ecstatic. I had never been on a proper team mission before and I was definitely ready.

The class began to walk to the entrance of the forest but I felt a sudden fear overwhelm me. I had never done this before and I was completely and utterly terrified, even though I was mega excited earlier.

"(Y/N)?" Rin tapped me on the shoulder, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm kinda nervous," I giggled.

"Why's that?"

"Well I've never really been on a proper mission before and my heart is beating quite fast and yeah..." I trailed off, Rin sensing I was just a tad scared.

"If you get in any trouble, don't hesitate to call me. I'll always help you out," he smiled down at me and blushed a little. I mouthed a 'thank you, you too,' and off we went.

I had been in the depths of the forest for at least an hour and a half by now and I had repelled many demons with some holy water but none were really proving a challenge as of yet. I decided to take a seat on what was seemingly an open part of the forest where there was no trees and a little lake and ate a sandwich that Rin had made me.

I had just about finished when I heard rustling coming from bushes near me.

"Hello?" I said, stupidly. If there was a demon, did I really think it was going to have a fucking reply?

I was glad I decided to take my sword with me on this trip. I took out my sword from my back and some paper to release my familiar. No one had seen my sword or familiars before at True Cross because it hadn't been necessary but I was beginning to feel uneasy.

I cut my pinky on my sword to release some blood and streamed it across the white sheet of paper. My leopard-like familiar came out to greet me. It's name was Kira.

"Kira, could you go and check out what that rustling was?" I asked the leopard kindly. She bowed her head and went to see. From the bush, a gigantic spider sprang free. Now I understood why Mr. Okumura said that our demons were our fears.

I was absolutely petrified and frozen in the spot. Spiders were my greatest fear ever. I decided it would probably be a bad a idea to scream because somebody might come running for me and I didn't want that. I tried to remain calm and stay as far away from the creature as possible. The holy water I sprayed in its direction didn't do much to drive it away. I understood that if I wanted to accomplish this task, I'd have to straight up face my fear.

Due to the monster seeing me spray the holy water, it charged for me and I used my sword to hack one of its legs. It cried out as I did so but continued nonetheless, just a little off balance.

I carried on fighting with the beast like this for a while until I grew increasingly more tired. After all, I wasn't the fittest in class. Or strongest, for that matter.

I had hacked off 3 legs and that's when the thing managed to get on top of me because it severely cut one of my legs, rendering me immobile. I seized the opportunity that came up and used my sword to penetrate straight through its body. It was certainly a goner now. It disappeared into ash and a piece of paper landed on my chest. Who would've thought? A demon spider. I just lay on the ground because I didn't have the capacity to get up. There was blood strayed all across my legs and some on my hands. I then remembered Rin telling me to phone him if there was any trouble. I decided to because I couldn't hear any battle cries or screams from the forest any more. It had surely been at least three or so hours since we had went into this mission.

"Hello? (Y/N)? Are you okay? Have you defeated your demon yet?" asked Rin frantically.

"Yeah," I heaved out, "I have but I don't think I can get up. Are you back at the camp yet?"

"Yes. Everyone's already back. We were all so worried about you, (Y/N)," he said sadly. My heart twisted a bit in my chest.

"I'm sorry," I said on the verge of tears.

"Don't be. We're coming to get you," he said and hung up the phone.

I guess all I could do was just wait until someone came to rescue me. I felt so helpless.
