I step out of the car that I stole and breathe in the fresh country air, taking a look around at the empty plot of land. I let out a chuckle as I shake my head in disbelief. I walk forward and stretch my arm out, making contact with my target. As usual, an orange light glows from my hand, the power charging me up. After a minute I can finally see the house in front of me.
"There you are." I laugh to myself
I make my way up the front porch and take the Swiss army knife I bought before I got here and pick the lock. After successfully getting into the house I take quiet steps into the foyer and listen carefully... silence.
"Dad must not be home." I whisper to myself
I walk through the house, retracing all of my steps from that night, reliving each and every kill. Instead of feeling happy like I did that night, I feel regret and sadness. I quickly shake off the feeling as I walk back down the stairs and make my way into the kitchen. I open the fridge and although it's almost empty, I find stuff to make me a sandwich while I wait for daddy dearest. Right when I take my first bite, I hear another car pull up to the house.
"Daddy's here."
I don't move from the chair as I hear my dad's keys go into the locks, turning. He opens the door and walks in, his footsteps coming closer. My back is to the only doorway into the kitchen but I know he's right behind me when I hear his voice.
"Who are you and what the hell are you doing in my house?"
I chuckle as I get up out of my chair and slowly start turning toward my Father. A smile crosses my face as his face is obviously covered in shock.
"Hello, dad. Miss me?" I greet him, my smile still wide
"Kai."

Stefan is in the passenger seat next to me, and Jo and Olivia are in the backseat. It's been a silent ride because there was a small argument before we left if Josette should really be coming with us. We clearly lost the argument and now she hasn't said one word since getting on the plane except telling us the address to her house when we landed. I tap my fingers on the steering wheel as I glance back at her every few seconds.
"Yes, Katherine?" She asks finally speaking
"Nothing, just making sure you're okay." That is all I say as the GPS talks
I pull up to this gorgeous white two-story house with a nice big yard and I see two cars outside. I put the car in park and turn to Jo and Liv, a shared look between them.
"What, what's wrong?" I ask
"The house, it shouldn't be visible. The cloaking spell must be down." Olivia informs me
"Kai's here, I can feel it." Jo adds
I turn back and look over to Stefan and then back at Jo. He shakes his head in agreeance and I then look back at Olivia.
"Help a girl out will you?" I ask nonchalantly nodding my head to Jo
"Sorry about this Jo, but I don't want you to get hurt." She gives her an apologetic look before she chants a spell and Jo passes out
Without another word, Olivia gets out of the car, and Stefan and I follow behind. She doesn't waste any time as she skips steps to get up the porch and she barges in the door, turning to us.
"Katherine, Stefan. Come on in."
After she invited us in, she moves out of our view and makes her way to where I'm assuming is the back of the house. We follow her and the farther we go in we start to see blood. We hear a gasp from Olivia and quickly move to her and see her looking at her father, Kai over him. He looks up at us and gives a small chuckle.
"I was wondering when you guys would get here. Don't worry Livie, dad's still alive, he's a fighter."
He gets up from kneeling over his dad and moves slightly closer to Olivia, she backs up and is visibly scared.
"Motus." She chants as Kai flies back against the counter
He lands on the floor and Olivia runs over to her dad, goes to her knees, and lifts his head up into her lap. I quickly grab a towel that I see and wet it, being careful of the slightly knocked-out Kai. I kneel down to where they both are and I start cleaning up his face.
"Sir, my name is Katherine, I'm here to help. What's your name?" I ask looking down at the man
"Joshua Parker." He manages to get out
"If it's okay with you, I am going to feed you my blood."
He nods his head and I bite my wrist, placing it against his lips. He drinks the blood and we watch as his visible wounds start to heal. I hear a groan and look over to see Kai coming to. I quickly get Joshua up on his feet, Olivia following. She gets up and snakes her arm around his waist and puts her dad's arm over her shoulders.
"Let's hurry up and get out before he wakes up." I state, trying to move everyone out of the house
We go to leave and I feel a grip on my upper arm, that familiar orange glow, the power once again getting sucked out of me. I groan out in pain as I turn to see Kai chanting a spell. The front door slams and all of a sudden it goes dark, I look out the back door and the sky is turning a dark grey. I snatch my arm out of Kai's grip and back away.
"No one is going anywhere, not until I get what I was coming here for." He threatens
"Sorry, Kai, but you aren't killing your father. Not today."
Kai chuckles as he motions his hand as Olivia did earlier and I move back and I am now sitting on the couch in the living room.
"Now, hand over dad, Olivia and I will let all of you live." He says, reaching his hand for Joshua
"No, I won't!" She shouts
"Oh well." He smiles before throwing her against a wall
As Olivia groans in pain, reaching her hand to touch the back of her head. Blood covered her fingers. Kai turns back to us and starts walking toward his father but not before I stop him by speeding in front of him.
"Phasmatos Morsinus Pyrox Allum. Phasmatos Morsinus Pyrox Allum." I start to chant as Kai yells out in pain
"Phasmatos Morsinus Pyrox Allum." I continue to chant as Kai falls down to his knees, groaning
"Sorry Kai, but here is where your story ends." I state
"No! please, don't kill me!" He shouts "I'll do anything. Please." He begs
"Katherine!" Olivia yells "He's the leader of the coven, you can't kill him. If he dies, we will die."
I look over at Olivia and my heart saddens for her, I shake my head and focus my eyes back on Kai, still on his knees in pain.
"Katherine, please. I don't want to die. Please don't do this." She tries to plead with me
"I have a daughter back home that I need to get back to and this is the only way I can do that. I'm sorry, Olivia but I have to kill him." I frown as I look around at everyone before turning back to Kai once more
Without hesitation, I place my hands around his neck and snap.
