Autumn

I watched, helplessly, as Amber carried Goldie away. Probably to get the guards.

"Any regrets?" Shelby asks me.

"Just that I allowed this to happen." I reply, banging my head against the branches.

Big mistake. Those thorns really did hurt. Ouch.

"We can't give up yet! We simply can't!" Spring exclaimed.

"Come on, Autumn! You're a great planner! Make a plan!" Mily cried.

I took a deep breath to calm myself.

"Okay. But first I need to know all of your powers." I said, firmly.

"I'm a fire fairy, as you know." Shelby says.

"I'm a nature fairy." Spring says.

"I'm a sunshine fairy!" Joy yells, excitedly.

"We're water fairies." Lily and Mily chant together.

A plan begins to form.

"Okay, remember the plan." I tell the group, once we're ready.

"Yes, yes. We know." Shelby moans.

Shelby attempts to burn the cage with her fire. As I suspected, Amber's magic is too strong for that. But I knew there would be another way. But it was worth a try. Kaitlin lifts her palm.

"Beavers!" She yells, firmly.

A small group of beavers rush into the throne room and immediately begin to gnaw at the cage. I figured the only thing that could get rid of nature magic was nature magic. Before long, the beavers had created a big enough gap for us to walk through, one by one.

"Wonderful work, Kaitlin!" Spring exclaims, patting her on the back.

Time for phase two. Shelby holds her hand out at the ready, in case we stumble across any guards, and we all run to Goldie's bedroom. She wasn't there, as I thought. Spring parts from us and runs in the opposite direction. We rushed down to the dungeons. Amber was sitting in a cell, and Goldie was watching her, and laughing at her. The door was wide open, to remind her she was not a prisoner of the cell, but of her own sister, and own body.

"Hey, Goldie!" Mily yells.

"You! How did you get out? No matter, at least you're already here." Goldie says, waving a hand lazily. "I thought you might want to watch Amber's last moments."

Only then did I see Amber, clutching a sharp, silver blade in front of her face. Goldie slowly raises her hand towards her. Amber is facing towards the blade, but her eyes, full of fear, are staring at us, pleading for help.

"Turns out Anastasia had some use after all!" Goldie cackled.

The knife had a tiny A etched into the handle. Amber lifts it, and holds it dramatically for a few seconds by her neck. I did the only thing that came into my head. I raised my bow, and pulled at the arrow. I let go.
