Goldie's sneer greeted us.
"Hello, escaped, have we? You know, you were in there for a reason. You knew far too much." Goldie stated.
Autumn looked as though she might explode. Her face turned tomato red, she glared at Goldie with hatred I had only seen when she looked at Shelby. Her eyes flickered to a small bow, lying in a frame. The caption said something about some old king killing some dragon with it. I expected Autumn to run and grab it, but she remained still.
"You know, escape artists get double the sentence. I'll take that, too." Goldie continued.
She stepped towards Amber and took her flowered hairpin and placed it safely in the pocket in her ballgown.
"Maybe we'll just execute you. Which would you prefer, beheading or hanging?" Goldie asked.
Shelby looked like she would rather just stab herself, right there on the royal carpet.
My mind wandered to my powers. What could I summon to get us out of this situation? Maybe a lion, it could kill Goldie. But that was very violent, and we would probably get the blame, and it could probably be called murder. But, animal summoning wasn't the only thing I saw in the vision, was it? I was a nature fairy, so I could also rapidly grow plants. But I had never tried before. But on the other hand, now was the best time to try.
Goldie continued to taunt us, as I desperately tried to think of something. Suddenly, I had an idea. I slowly raised my hand. Goldie was so busy talking she didn't see me.
"Tree." I whispered under my breath.
Just behind Goldie, a large oak tree began to sprout from the wooden floor. She flipped around.
"What's this?" Goldie asked, as though she had never seen one before.
This gave Autumn the precious seconds she needed to run and grab the bow. She tugged at it and pulled it free. Autumn quickly hid it behind her back just as Goldie turned back around.
"Who did that? Was it you, Amber?" Goldie demanded.
"Who did what?" Amber asked, innocently.
"The tree!" Goldie screeched.
"What tree?" Shelby asked.
"You might be going mad." Autumn added.
"You all know perfectly well what I mean." Goldie snapped.
"No, we don't. I think you might be having hallucinations. I hear foot odor is capable of doing that, if it is particularly stinky. And my first job at the castle was your royal foot-massager, so I know stinky." Autumn said, with a fake tragic look, like her pet dog had just died.
"Just for that, you'll be going last for execution, so you get to watch the others die first!" Goldie ranted.
I see out of the corner of my eye, Autumn slowly slides her hand into her back pockets. I just see an arrow sticking out of the top. She must have got some more arrows when we were in the Celestial Garden! Shelby spies it too, and I can practically see the lightbulb click in her head. She raises her hand towards Goldie. I know what she is going to do a split second before she does it. Fire shoots up from the ground, in a perfect circle around Goldie.
Her eyes widen to the size of golf balls.
"I can just scream for the guards. Fire doesn't scare me." Goldie says, even though I can see the obvious fear on her face.
"Goldie," Autumn begins, holding up her bow. "I will bring the guards in here right now. Either you confess your crimes, and spend some time in prison, or you lie and I kill you. You pick."
I already know Autumn has no intention of killing anyone. But Goldie probably thinks everyone is as evil as she is.
