Goldie looks like she was about to throw a dumbbell at Autumn. Then a parrot flew into the room, landed on my shoulder and started saying;

"The only thing that can break the spell is 'an act of innocence.'" In Spring's exact voice and tone.

And the parrot made quotation marks with his talons and briefly flew in the air above me as he did so. I see Spring rushing into the room a short while afterwards, panting, clutching Jeremy's hand.

"What are you doing?!" Shelby cries. "Get him out of here!"

"Sisters!" He cries, blissfully, jumping up and down.

"What on earth?!" Goldie's eyes widened.

"Oh, I see." I say, smiling.

"See what?" Demands Goldie.

"Hate to say it, but I could say the same as Goldie." Shelby shakes her head in confusion.

He looks at her with his huge eyes full of admiration. Goldie can't help but cry silently, quieter than the quietest whisper, "Awww."

She clenches her fists, trying not to show any sort of emotion. She can't help it. She put her hands to her cheeks and squeaked quietly. That was all we needed. Her skin changed colour, to the colour of the concrete paths at school. It hardened, turned rocky. Her eyes lost all colour, her hair turned dusty. She had completely turned to stone.

Amber's shoulder untensed and she stared at her sister in disbelief.

"No, no, no." Her face turned chalk white.

"I'm sorry, Amber." Autumn put her hand on her shoulder.

"I grew up with that girl. If you had told me what she would go on to do, back then, I would have assumed you had her confused with someone else." Amber whispered.

"Amber, I promise, if I knew that was going to happen, I would have found an alternative method to our success." Autumn sat down and covered her face as though it was all her fault.
