Hey, I'm back! I haven't updated this story for a while. This is why I don't have a schedule for posting new chapters. This story will swear a little bit. I would put that as a warning, but for me, it's easier to say that here.
TW: gore, death
Anyway, enjoy!
He was walking down a cold and dark hallway. There were lights, but they were dim and flickering. They gave the hallway an eerie look. Tommy walked for a little bit. He was shaking and terrified. How did I get here?
He then approached a door. It was a dark brown with a gold plate on it. 573.
He put his hand on the doorknob and slightly flinched. It was cold, so very cold. Tommy slowly turned the knob and
When he opened the door, he looked around. The room looked familiar. It was a family room, or a living room. There was a faded brown couch in the middle and a small coffee table in front of it.
He looked over to the side and saw a counter. It was connected to a wall with a small gap between the celling and the material for the top of the counter. He knew that there was a kitchen that way.
Tommy shivered and looked back to the family room. He looked to the other side and saw that there was another, smaller, hallway.
He started walking towards it.
When he reached the beginning of the hallway, he saw nothing. Then, there was a noise behind him and he quickly turn around to look. There was nothing.
He turned back around to the hallway and he saw them. Two bodies laying on the floor. Their throats were slit and blood was pooled on the floor around them. Their eyes were glossed over and the blood looked dry.
He turned and saw that the house had been ransacked. When he looked back at the two dead bodies, he screamed. He realized that the faces were familiar.
These were the dead bodies of his parents.
Tommy woke up and started shaking.
It's just another nightmare.
It's just another nightmare. When he had calmed himself down, he looked at the clock and saw that it was way past lunch.
Tommy got dressed as fast as he could and ran down the stairs. He needed to be fast so could get dinner. He'd missed all meals one day and it wasn't fun trying to fall asleep on an empty stomach.
It was spring break, so he didn't have to deal with school for that week.
Tommy went back upstairs after he had eaten dinner. He went into the bathroom and looked at the mirror.
He had short fluffy blond hair. It used to be more of a strawberry blond, but that had faded. His eyes were a bright blue, they used to be even brighter. His ears were a bit more pointed than everyone else's, which he got bullied because of them. The pictures of avian in the books he read, they didn't have pointed ears.
Tommy was tall for his age, but he wasn't the strongest. His frame was skinny, probably from the food from this orphanage. When he turned around to look at his wings, he accidentally maximized them. He stared in shock at them. He hadn't seen them like this in months, maybe even a year. They looked awful.
Tommy's wings were missing clumps of feather. Some if the remaining feathers were damaged. Yup, that's why they were always minimized.
Luckily, his feathers would grow back. All he needed was to let them stay out like this, but there was no way in hell that he was going to do that. He would probably get caught, and then sold. He definitely didn't want that.
He minimized his wings back to their small size. The colors of his feathers were white fading down to gray. The bottom of the wings was a black.
Tommy was insecure about his appearance. His ears were too pointy, his feathers were ripped up on his big wings, he was too skinny, etc. That list could go on and on. The bullies at school didn't help.
They would kick him and call him names; he had come back to the orphanage with bruises and cuts and the occasional broken nose. He was pretty much used to it, even if it still hurt.
Tommy finished getting dressed and fixing his hair. He went down to the 'cafeteria' of the orphanage and got some food.
Tommy then went back to his room, where he spent 90% of his time.
Tommy's eyelids were starting to feel heavy, so he went to his bed and laid down.
When his head hit his pillow, he could tell how tired he was. He was exhausted. The sleep from earlier didn't do anything. His thoughts slowly drifted off until he was asleep. Surprisingly, he had no dreams that night, good or bad.
That's odd.
