"The Crown princess does not wish to see you." Jeongyeon stopped Jisoo from entering Jennie's chamber once again."But I wish to see her." Jisoo wearily stated. "Days have flown by, it has been weeks, yet I have not gotten a chance to speak to her once. Please just allow me once."
On the other side, Jennie muffled her mouth with her hand to keep Jisoo from hearing her sobs. Nothing more she wanted right now that to run out to her lover's arms but it hurt her to face the General when all she could see on her face was regret and the pain of her father's death.
Jeongyeon clenched her fist, refusing to meet Jisoo's eyes in fear she would give in to the General. The raven has made a habit of waiting outside her chamber day to night for the princess to allow her in yet she refused to meet her even once.
"The servants will soon bring the princess her meal for the night." Jisoo knew what that meant. She will need to leave soon or else Jennie will refuse to open the door for both Jisoo and the servants.
The General would rather leave once again than let her lover starve. She nodded to Jeongyeon and leaned her head against the once again.
"I was unable to keep my promise. I apologize once again, your Highness. I will wait for you to heal your scars even if I will have to stay outside this door for centuries."
The princess found the strength to drag herself to the door, moments away from opening it.
"I would just like you to know, every minute that passes by without seeing you tears through my heart, your Highness. No amount of apologies will make up for what I failed to do but I hope you will find it in you to accept me back."
Right as Jennie was about to open the chamber to allow entry for the General, loud footsteps caught her off guard.
"General Lee. What are you doing here once again? Have all your scars healed yet?" Yoongi looked at Jisoo in pity, her unhealed scars were poorly patched up. "Would you like me to get a servant to help you clean those off again?"
Jennie perked up at his words. She remembered the blood that ran down Jisoo's body. Even as the rain washed it away, it continued to bleed out. In her mourning she had neglected the General's pain.
"No." Jisoo shook her head. "I appreciate your offer but I would not want to bother anyone for me. I was actually leaving."
"Oh well, be careful on your way." He spoke with concern. "I will see you in the court."
"Yes." Jisoo sighed before bowing to him and nodding off to Jeongyeon. The two watched her walk out, heading towards the gate.
"Our army has suffered too much." General Min sighed tiredly. Jeongyeon nodded to his words. "I hope the day we heal comes soon."

"It all happened too fast."
"Sooya..."
"I could not do it. I could not keep my promise." Jisoo sat defeated in the field of flowers. "I have failed as a soldier and as a lover."
"You tried till the best of your ability." Seulgi reassured her. "We all did. Had we known they would play dirty tricks, we would have been prepared."
Jisoo grit her teeth in anger as she reflected on what caused all this.
"I refuse to allow them to walk free." Taehyung proclaimed. "We will destroy their entire kingdom if we need to."
"We will. But before that, I keep thinking of what the Emperor had said in his last moments."
"One of our men had helped him. No one else knew the way we would travel. There is treason being committed in Silla. Trust no one."
