"Where were you?"

"How is this your matter?"

"It is my matter. We are brothers, if you have not forgotten."

"Are we?" Raising his brow, he walked closer. "Where were you, Taehyung? Where were you when I was in need?" His fingers traced the edge of the blade.

"You won't."

"Oh, I will. I will do anything for that crown and you know it."

"We are not owners of that crown."

"SO WHAT ARE WE?!" His yell echoed through the chamber. He took a deep breath in to calm himself. "You people may want to continue to work under other rulers for the rest of your life but I...I refuse to."

His calm air was more threatening than his anger. "And anyone that stands in my way will have to fall..."

"WE ARE BROTHERS!" The General reminded him as the end of his life was standing before him.

A sick smirk made it way up the man's lips. "...no matter our relation."

"Don't do this...please." He pleaded as tears dropped. "You will ruin the whole land."

"Do you really not trust me as the ruler of Silla, General Kim? That hurts me dearly." Sarcasm filled his voice.

"You still have time. Please. Please turn back. Think of the people." Seeing no sense of empathy on his face, the anger in Taehyung rose. "WE ARE FAMILY!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, the sharp object entered his body.

"YOU ARE NOT MY BLOOD!" A pained scream let out of Taehyung's mouth as blood spilled out of his body. He gasped for air and unsuccessfully reached around to push his murderer back. The sword that had impaled him was mercilessly twisted around.

"Forgive me." An exhale left the mouth of the man. "One must always protect the Crown and obey the words of the Emperor, General." As each word left his mouth, he cruelly jabbed the sword in further into the unmoving body.

"Do not worry. I will not tell the world you died so easily without a fight like a pure failure." As his words reached his ears, Taehyung closed his eyes.

"Why do you look so restless, General Lee?" Lisa inquired as she watched Jisoo fumble around with the hem of her sleeve.

"Me?" Jisoo squeaked uncharacteristically. Quickly, she cleared her throat and gave her a quick smile. "I haven't seen General Kim in days. I haven't had time to speak to the princess either. It's all so exhausting."

"Oddly, I haven't seen the princess much either and I'm quite literally the Crown princess's guard." Lisa joked. "I am so tired from preparing for the ceremony. The day has come so quick."

"Too quick." Jisoo sighed. "The war is mere days away. We will be on the field, fighting for our lives again."

"Who is this 'we' you speak of ??" Lisa gasped.

"Are you not fighting with us?!"

"Of course not! I have a very demanding job as the soon-to-be Empress' guard." Lisa sneered. " I am mainly avoiding it because I would gain a new scar in the field that Chaeyoung would definitely dislike. I will be buried alive by her."

"Frightened by the bite though it's no harsher than the bark." She chuckled in her misery as she touched her brow to feel her own scar. "Avoiding the war means you will have to protect the Princess and my sister safely until I come back."
