"The Crown Princess is so mature. She has not shed a tear since that day.""She even took it upon herself to fast a week rather than just the three days.
Murmurs around the crowd went on praising Jennie but her close ones knew how much she had suffered the past few days as they got the Emperor ready for his burial. Her body was quite weak and frail.
Even with Jisoo begging her to eat, she refused to as it was being untrue to her father. They watched as she participated in the ancestral rituals while the palace guards and Generals stood behind her silently.
They worried for her; Fear she would collapse any second. General Yoongi stood beside her for safety. The princess stumbled as they lowered the body of the Emperor into the ground.
Before the Army General could make her way to her, General Yoongi held her shoulder and whispered to her. Jennie nodded, acknowledging him and focused on finishing the ritual.
As soon as it was over, silence fell over the people. Yoongi looked over at Jennie to find her staring blankly at the Emperor's burial ground.
"Your Highness." His voice didn't reach Jennie's train of thought. Jisoo walked past her place and stood in between them, nodding to him.
"Your Highness." Jennie turned, hitting Jisoo with her hair. The General barely flinched and only took Jennie's arms in her hands to stabilize her. "We should leave." The princess nodded, and stood behind Jisoo as she walked her back to her palanquin.
Jennie looked at her anxiously as the General moved to the side and stood by for her to enter. "I will be right behind you." She ensured and watched her climb in.
They made their way back with the princess peaking out to the General walking by her side. As they entered past the palace gates, General Kim held Jisoo back and let the rest of them walk in with the princess.
"I have found something that might benefit us but we will need to leave by night and return by morning." Taehyung whispered to Jisoo.
"I will meet you by the river tonight once again after I speak with the princess."
"There is a meeting in the court. I will see you after that." They nodded off as Jisoo made her way to the chamber. As she walked to Jennie's chamber, the guards stopped her from entering.
"The Crown Princess is currently occupied in a meeting in the court with the Generals." Jisoo backed up and stood by after she was informed. Getting bored after almost half an hour of wishing, Jisoo decided to walk around the palace.
After a swift stroll through the garden, Jisoo stood at the bridge which led to it. The stream of water was calming as it helped her remain blank for a few moments. That was until she walked back to the courtyard.
People were scrambling around as the beginning of preparations were retaking place but unfortunately Jidoo had no idea what it was. The guards stood at the stones which indicated their position for the unknown palace ceremony while a General watched over them.
The confused General decided to make her way back to see the princess. Her feet came to a stop once she saw Taehyung in a heated discussion with General Min in front of the Royal library.
Jisoo carefully watched them hold very different expressions; General Min had a laid-back smirk while General Kim glared at him in return. Their words weren't heard by Jisoo but it was quite obvious that Yoongi did not care for Taehyung's feelings.
Contemplating walking to them, Jisoo took a step forward only to stop once Yoongi clutched onto the hem of Taehyung's wrist. He uttered some angry words before walking away.
