"You look horrible man" Namjoon said. They were both in Jungkook's house, his parents weren't there for the weekend and he was left alone with Tako, so he invited his best friend over to hang out. The thing is, there hasn't been much hanging out so far.
"Do I?" Jungkook lazily replied, not bothering to look at him.
"Is that a beer?"
"There's more in the fridge"
"But how many have you had already?" Namjoon asked.
"There's enough don't worry"
"Jungkook"
"4 maybe 5" he replied, bringing the glass bottle up to his lips and taking a long sip.
"It's 6pm dude... the sun doesn't set another two hours" Namjoon wasn't the judgemental type, especially not when it comes to alcohol, but he might have judged his friend a little bit just now.
"Since when are you the beer police" Jungkook scoffed, not moving his eyes from the view of his neighborhood. This balcony wasn't as nice as the one in his college studio, but it was good enough for this moment right now, when he just wanted some quiet and peace to numb his thoughts.
"Since you look like you haven't slept or eaten in days" Namjoon knew something was up, he knew Jungkook too well not to notice.
The group did see the way him and Jimin acted around each other and were all sure they got a bit closer than best friends would. It didn't bother Namjoon himself, he's known of Jungkook's preferences for a while and wasn't surprised he had an eye for Jimin.
"Don't know what you're talking about"
"Well... The other day I texted Jimin and he thought you were being MIA" he said, deciding to grab a beer for himself and join the other where he stood.
"You're in my house Joon, I'm not doing a great job if that's true" Jungkook replied, setting the empty bottle on the ledge.
"Then should we invite Jimin over too?" Namjoon suggested.
"No"
"So you're avoiding him"
"Mind your business" Jungkook looked away in disinterest.
"I've known you for years Kook, and you've avoided me before. I know what it looks like when I see it" he added.
"So what if I'm avoiding him"
"All I'm saying is it's doing you no good. Whatever it is, I'm sure you can talk it out together" he tried, he didn't like seeing his best friend drinking so recklessly and mixing day with night, it was his duty to look out for him.
"We can't Joon, whatever we had... I can't do it" he declined.
"What's wrong? Everything looked fine"
"I'm what's wrong. I'm still not totally over Lisa man, and I don't know how to do it" Jungkook finally admitted.
"...Did you tell Jimin this?" he paused a little before asking.
"Yeah last week, I can't lead him on if I'm not sure I feel nothing for her anymore" he replied, taking his last sip from the bottle before settling it on the ground.
"And what did he say" Namjoon asked again, watching his friend sigh deeply and close his eyes for a moment.
"The look on his face" he clicked his tongue, "I hated every part of that conversation, I hated seeing him so hurt" Jungkook added.
