Music was playing. Not very loud, but loud enough to move Jimin's core as he looked at the sunrise. They were halfway back to town and sunrise had started a couple minutes ago. Since they were driving in the opposite direction of where the sun sets, they could see it very clearly.
The beautiful sunrise was blessing Jimin's eyes, the refreshing blue replaced the darkness that was engulfing them. It was getting lighter by the second as a beautiful bright orange color blazed close to the horizon, breaking into the sky when the golden sun started appearing.
Jimin felt the warm sun rays hit his face and closed his eyes, allowing himself to enjoy the moment completely. He tapped with his hand to the beat slightly on his thigh, which slowly became a light banging of his head to the music, then he was full on vibing with the song. Jimin swung his body to the music and made gestures with his hands to match the drums.
You're so golden
Jungkook was tapping with his fingers on the wheel as he had one arm extended and the other on the open window frame. He looked at the younger and chuckled.
Something clicked in Jimin's brain.
Thinking back to what he was feeling when he first met the guys, and even before, he realized he didn't feel this free since his father got diagnosed with the liver disease. He was keeping himself in a tight box, with a couple wholes at the top as to when he made himself some 'friends' at school.
He felt an overwhelming happiness at the moment, a euphoric feeling at the thought of finding himself again. He smiled at the end of the song when the beat stopped and the melody continued on its own. He wasn't like this before, he was a lot brighter, not the wildest but he was true to his own person.
A few minutes later, Jungkook pulled over in front of Jimin's place and the boy looked at the door reluctantly.
"Don't wanna leave me yet?" Jungkook joked, leaning back on his seat and flexing one of his arms behind his head "Shut up..."
"Whenever you're ready, it's not like I have shit to do in my life" Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"My mom's lights just turned off and I don't know if that means she just woke up or she went to bed" he said pensively and the other shrugged.
"Why would they be on, it's daylight now"
"It's not bright enough just yet dumbass... Alright I'm gonna take the chance and say she went to bed" he said to himself, the minute he opened the car door, the front door of his house also opened.
"Park Jimin! What went through your head deciding to come home 12h after leaving?" his mom started scolding, tightening her warm robe against her body and getting closer to the car.
"Go, go" Jimin quickly told the older boy but he wasn't fast enough. His mom bent herself a little to the car window and greeted.
"Good morning young man... Thank you for driving Jimin around I know he can be a little difficult-"
"Mom! I can't let you meet anyone oh my god" he said and pulled her by the arm.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Park, he's not too bad he just need to start respecting his elders sometimes" Jungkook said and Jimin wanted nothing more than to strangle him.
"No way, my Jimin isn't respectful? I don't know what to say- what's your name by the way" she asked.
"I'm Jungkook"
"Oh the uptight smoker, Jimin said a lot about you" she said with a kind smile and Jimin busted out laughing.
"Uptight-" Jungkook mutters and narrowed his eyes and the smaller "I guess that's me... Although I'd love to chat and know more of what he said about me, I'm afraid I have to go Mrs. Park" he excused himself and smiled politely.
