"And I said no" Jen shook her head.
"Come on, you loved surfing, mom" Jimin encouraged, rubbing her shoulders as she sat on the couch with a bowl of popcorn on her lap.
"A long time ago baby, I don't think I remember how to stand on a board anymore"
"Nonsense" he disagreed, "You're coming with us this weekend and that's final" he declared.
"No Jimin let it go please" she complained, "Don't you think it would be lame to have an adult tag along on your friend trip? I don't want to embarrass you all" she whined.
"Is that why you don't wanna come?" he asked with a chuckle, "You're not embarrassing anyone, you're like- the coolest mom ever" he responded.
"I'm too old to be hanging out with college students" she insisted.
"And what I'm saying is, it would be so fun to have you there-" Jimin attempted to convince her again before getting interrupted by the doorbell. He raised his brows and shuffled to the entrance curiously.
"Jungkook? What are you doing here?" he asked in surprise upon opening the door.
"Good morning Cupcake" he greeted before pecking him on the lips, followed by a few barks at his feet. "I need you to petsit Tako for me please" he whispered with a sweet smile.
"Why, where are you going?" Jimin asked while rubbing the dog's face. He stood up again and looked up at the older boy before removing lint from his t-shirt.
"I have some paperwork to get done back in Bayman" he rolled his eyes anticipating the exhausting process.
"Oh, sure I'll take him" he nodded, "Only if you help me convince my mom to come with us on the weekend" he sighed.
"On the surfing trip? That would be nice" Jungkook agreed.
"Well, can you tell her that? Because she's convinced she-"
"Jungkookie? Come in, why are you standing out there" Jimin's mom said when she was on her way to get a popcorn refill.
"Now's the time" Jimin nodded his head over to her retreating figure, and held the taller's wrist to pull him inside. He fetched the dog bowl in the bottom cupboards in the kitchen and filled it with water for Tako while Jungkook did as asked.
"Jen why don't you join us this weekend?" he suggested, leaning on the island with his forearms. She was putting the next bag in the microwave when she paused and turned to her son with a deadpan expression, then to his boyfriend.
"You don't need to do this Jungkookie, I will be just fine at home while you guys are out there conquering the waves" she smiled softly.
"I doubt it would be more fun though" he shrugged, "We have plenty of room in Jin's uncle's house, and you won't have to worry about driving, you can shotgun in my car" he offered before hearing Jimin clear his throat.
"Or... Not shotgun?" he asked, unsure of what he said wrong.
"The last thing I want is to trust any of you boys with a car when I'm in it. I can drive my own" she shook her head.
"So you're coming!" Jimin beamed.
"I- No that's not what I-" she tried but her son wanted to hear none of it.
"I'm going to surf with my mom for the first time in ages" he insisted before pressing an enthusiastic kiss on her cheek.
"It's a done deal Jen" Jungkook chuckled with his arms crossed against his chest, looking at them with fond eyes.
