Ok, so I'm starting off with a controversial opinion (this is probably a bad idea but anyway). Personally, I really don't like Cap.

This isn't anything against the actor, in fact, I love Chris Evans. It's just the character in itself and what he does that I don't like.

Think about it. He started off as a scrawny little dude who had values and wanted to serve in the war and do the right thing. By some miracle, some scientist felt bad for him and made him into a super soldier because "The Little Guys Got To Stick Together". As soon as he becomes the super soldier, all his values kinda go out the window.

Before he took the soldier serum, he had to rely on his brain alone, working smarter, not harder. But as soon as he got the muscles, that's all he relied on.

Sure, you can make the argument that he's the leader of the Avengers. But let's be honest, Tony's more the leader. Cap is only the leader because he can think of a good, moral boosting pep talk.

Another reason why I think Cap is over-rated, is because he didn't really have to work or go through anything hard to get his powers/special skill. I know he got tested on, and so did Bucky, but Bucky went through hell whereas Cap had serum injected into him by trusted people and medics on stand-by. Bucky (and same with Natasha) went through trauma to get their powers. I also am aware that Steve fought in war which can be traumatising, but imagine all those other people in war who got the credit for it.

To me, he's lacking something I feel like all characters need: a personality.

His personality traits are basically loyalty, righteousness, leadership, courageous, patriotic, basically anything to do with being an extremely loyal American Man. But what he's missing is depth of character development. He kind of just stays the same throughout all the Avengers movies.

Now, I'm gonna talk about the hammer in Endgame...

Why was he worthy?

This is something I've been asking myself ever since Endgame came out. What made him special from the others? Why, in Age of Ultron, could nobody pick up the hammer but Steve could (but being the guy he is didn't want to embarrass Thor. If it was me, I'd lift that thing and wave it in Thor's face but hey, who am I to judge?"?

These are legitimate questions that I still have no answer to and I need someone to answer them for me.

Like, what made the guy on steroids so special to be able to lift up the hammer? Is it something about his moral compass? Because, let's be honest, Thor doesn't have a great moral compass. Honestly, I want it to be because of America's ass. That would be gold.

If anyone could clear this up and give their reasoning to why Cap is special, please tell me, I'd love to hear.

In summary, Cap is just a guy on steroids who got lucky. He isn't that special. He didn't have to work for his powers, he was just in the right place, at the right time.
