HIGH ENOUGH

seraphina sat up, "what the hell?" her head started throbbing, making her grab it. she pulled away but there was no blood. she heard footsteps approach the tent she was in, which she recognized as bellamy's. she looked over to the entrance, pulling a long dagger from her jacket.

when she held it up bellamy himself walked in. he stopped and held his hands up, "hey, hey, angel it's okay. it's just me." seraphina held the knife up for a moment longer before slowly lowering it. he rose a brow, "did you just consider throwing that at me?"

seraphina tilted her head side to side, "you've kinda been a jackass for the past several hours. so maybe"

bellamy chuckled slowly making his way over to her, "you've been out for about an hour. we banished murphy." he looked in her eyes, seemingly to see if she had any objections. she simply let out a relieved sigh looking down, "i'm sorry for passing out on you guys like that" bellamy hooked a finger under her chin so she would look at him, "don't apologize for something that's not your fault."

"i could say the same to you pretty boy." seraphina laughed pushing his hand away, "but i do however expect an apology for earlier. you didn't trust me after all the times i helped. i only asked for a little faith." bellamy grabbed her hand, "i'm sorry. i really am phina. i was focused on doing what i thought was necessary and i ignored you and i'm sorry"

she nodded slowly and linked their other hands, "it's alright pretty boy, just try and trust my word next time" he stared at her, taking a step closer. they leaned in slowly, keeping eye contact as they each searched for the others approval and-

"bellamy you have to see- fee you're awake!" octavia burst in tackling her best friend in a hug, seraphina catching the girl before they fell to the ground. "hey pretty girl. i'm fine. what's happening?" she questioned avoiding bellamy's eyes.

"oh yeah!" octavia pulled away grabbing seraphinas hand, "something's falling from the sky!" as they exited the tent seraphina looked to the sky, "there's no parachute." that was the first thing she noticed. she also noted that it didn't seem big enough to carry that much from what she could tell. octavia tilted her head, "is it that bad if there's no parachute?"

"think about it like this. that ship is moving very fast. it's hurtling towards earth and without that parachute it keeps that speed until it hits the ground" seraphina explained. octavia nodded. seraphina threw a look over to bellamy. his wide eyes were glued to the ship. he was worried.

"what do you need papa" seraphina asked her father. ezekiel leaned forward correcting her posture, "i need you to find that mechanic in training, the real smart one, and i need you to get her to find us a part." seraphina looked up in panic, "raven can't get us parts anymore. she's really set on becomin-" she was interrupted by her father slapping her, "just get the part. if you want to be weak and protect the girl do it. just know your risking your own skin seraphina"

octavia was getting a group packed. they were going to try and look for the pod but bellamy had told them that they would wait till the next morning. seraphina however, had learned to read the man in the short time she had known him. she wasn't buying it.

she felt like a child, worrying over the safety of someone she had known for only two weeks. worry is weakness that's what her father used to tell her. but he was dead and she didn't even want to think about the nonsense he put in her head.
