~ (y/n)'s POV : five years later ~

"Stand up!" My father yelled at my brother.

I had just witnessed my father kick my twin brother in the stomach, sending him flying across the room when he landed with a loud thump. I stood and watched in horror as my brother was coughing up his dinner, shivering in fear.

"I said stand up, dammit!" my father ordered my brother.

Shoto had attempted to stand up, but when he did, he immediately collapsed back onto the floor with a loud thud. I gasped in shock, and ran over to my shaking brother, and engulfed him in my arms.

He grasped onto me as hard as he could, "P-please...make him stop..." My brother pleaded, sobbing into my shoulder.

I swiftly nodded and got out of the hug. I walked over to my father, and looked him dead in the eye, "Y-you can't just do that to him! He's getting-"

I was shortly cut off, by my father slapping me hard across the cheek. Which sent me to the floor with a stinging sensation of my face.

I cupped my cheek in pain as tears brimmed my eyes. I quickly wiped them away, not wanting to to show any pain or weakness around this excuse I have for a father.

My dad just scoffed, "If you two, my own kin, can't handle some simple rough housing, how do you expect to surpass All Might, the Number One Hero? You're both pathetic!" he sneered.

"Enji! That's enough!" I heard my mom scold, "They're just children! And not only that, but they're yours! They can't take all of this physical and mental stress that you're laying on them at this young age!"

As she explained this to dad, she knelt down on the floor with us, and wrapped me and Shoto up in her arms.

We both grabbed at her shirt, nuzzling into her for comfort.

"I'm just building up their strength and endurance at a young age so they will succeed in life, go beyond everyone's expectations and then some!" my father defended.

My mom let out a depressed sigh, and picked us both up in her arms, and carried us to our bedroom. Once she set both of us down, and tucked us in, we said our goodnights. She turned off the light, and was about to leave, when I heard Shoto ask her something in the dark room.

"Why does he do this to us, mom? Doesn't he know that he's hurting us?" He asked with a tremor in his voice.

Mom turned back out direction in the doorframe with a sad smile, "He's just trying to make you the best heroes that you can be! He might not show it very well, but he cares about you two very deeply, in his own way."

And with that, she left the room closing the door behind her, leaving the two of us in pure darkness with nothing but each other. I started to feel cold and lonely, so I got out of my bad, and made my way over to Shoto.

"Can I-"

"Yes please!" He interrupted knowing the question that I was going to ask.

I smiled, and crawled into bed with him and got myself situated under the covers.

After a few seconds of silence, I burst into full-on sobs!

I could sense Shoto's shocked expression in the pitch black darkness, "A-are you okay? Are you hurt?" He worriedly asked.

I tried to stifle my sobs, but that ended up failing miserably, and I started to sob even harder, "W-why does he have to treat us like that? W-we're kids, his kids! W-we're no some robot he can use in his little game! W-we have feelings and feel pain, but all he cares about is us doing the thing that he will never be able to do, beat All Might!" I ranted to my twin.
