~ (y/n)'s POV ~
My eyes widened and I swiftly looked away from him as he interrogated me. I felt the beads of sweat form at my hairline as I tired to think of an excuse to get me out of this.
As I was sifting through a shelf of excuses in my mind, Natsuo's voice suddenly broke the tense silence between us, "Were you at Toya's grave again last night?" I solemnly asked.
I lifted my head and my eyes widened, glossed over with tears as I looked over to him. He turned away for me and look out the window, but in the glass I could see the somber expression. Natsuo took the loss of his brother way worse than most of our family members. Even though Toya had a soft spot for me, he did hang out with Natsuo the most on a daily basis and they had a special bond that brothers share. Even though back then, I was the only one who knew he had ran away and wasn't missing, the toll of his absence was a heavy one.
My whole family still had hopes that he was alive, and I hadn't seen him in a few years, let alone had any contact with him so I was starting to prepare for the worst too.
Than one night about a year ago, we got a visit from the police sealing his fate...
~ Flash Back ~
Shoto and I were sitting in front of the TV, watching the news as instructed by our dad. He was fighting a villain and he wanted us to watch his technique and his different moves so we could learn from him and if he made a mistake, correct him on what he should've done. And every commercial break, he wanted to discuss between the two of us our notes and our opinions on the fight. He was making us take notes and everything! It's kinda like 'those' people who watch sports on TV and yell at them for making a mistake and telling the people around them how they could've it done better.
All and all it wasn't the worst homework assignment he's given us, but writing down notes while watching TV isn't what I'd call fun per se.
Even though he was a shit dad, just watching him through a screen told me that he did his job well. I watched as he quickly maneuvered through the air, being careful to to avoid civilians and buildings as much as possible, which decreased the amount of total damage. My eyes followed his movements and when he used his quirk and how he used it. I hate to admit it, but it was the first time that I was proud to call him my dad. All of the past trauma he inflicted on me had faded away as I watched what my father did best...
Being a hero.
I got to look at the screen and have the privilege to say that I have the the Number Two Hero as my dad.
I turned to Shoto with a smile gracing my lips, "It's kinda awesome how he can do that! You've gotta admit, he's a good hero." I exclaimed after he just used his ultimate move, Prominence Burn.
But when I saw Shoto's face it didn't have the same adoration as mine, "He'll never he my hero, not after all he's done to us." He raged, "And plus, All Might is way cooler than him." His passionate expression morphing into it's usual emotionless stare.
I nodded in agreement and was about to ask him another question when his blank expression turned to one of worry. I gave him a confused stare and looked back at the screen. My eyes instantly widened in fear when I saw the blue flames were mixed into dad's flames. I stood up and moved closer to the TV.
"And just as we thought this battle would end with Endeavor coming out as the winner, another villain is attempting to fight! In the past few minutes that these two have been fighting, there have already been reports of dead civilians, burned to death by the flames! But we are unable to tell who caused these deaths due to the similarity between the two quirks. We will keep you updated with further casualties and now-"
