Everest POV:

*Sigggghhhhhhh*

Ever felt like everything is just utterly hopeless? Like no matter what you do, your crush is just not getting the hint? Like, no matter how many hundreds of hints you drop down, almost like he's intentionally keeps missing them?

Marshall came for a visit again here in the mountain. And if I guessed correctly, it's because he and Skye had a fight again.
Yep. Marshall and Skye had been dating for about 3 months now. And yes, Chase didn't take that too well and haven't had a proper conversation with either of them ever since.

I was sitting on the couch and stood up on my hind legs to look behind. Marshall was talking to Skye on his pup-tag. Well, arguing by the sound of it. I can hear Skye going off on the other end of the line.

Marshall ended the call and sighed dejectedly. He turned back towards me. I slightly tilted my head and asked, "so?"

He sullenly shook his head, "She's still mad about something I said."

I figured as much from his expression. But I still asked anyway. "What did you say anyway?" I asked as he walked around and flopped down on the coach with his head facing the ceiling.

"...Well. This morning she decided to dress up on her favorite pink dress. But apparently, it shrunk because of a washing incident, since it was supposed to be hand washed and not washing machined... Or something. And she looked like a wrapped up pink doll."

I couldn't help but let out a laugh imagining a cockapoo in a tight doll dress and could hardly even move a paw. I tried hard to stop myself from laughing after a while and decided to ask, "So, what did you tell her?"

Marshall helplessly sighed again. He paused before saying, "I asked her if she wanted to have a tea party."

" Pfffft-!!! HAHAHAHA!" I couldn't hold my laughter anymore and dropped on the couch hugging my tummy, which after sometime started to ache. A few tears of laughter escaped my eyes.

"That's too good! Oh my God my tummy!" I yelled pausing between laughs.

"RIGHT?? At least you get it! I don't know why she's so ANGRY about it!" He said as he started laughing with me.

After sometime we both calmed down. "So? Are you feeling alright now?" I asked.

" Hehe, yeah, thanks for cheering me up Eve. You're the best." He said smiling as brightly as a well lit room.

"Anytime. You know I'll always be here whenever you need me." I said smiling back. It's feels good whenever I manage to cheer him up when he and Skye had a fight. If only he could see how much I care about him. I don't even know why he tries so hard to fix their relationship. I mean it's obvious it's not gonna last any longer than it did. I'm surprised it lasted this long honestly.

He looked at the clock. "Oh, look at the time. I should probably go home now." He said getting off the couch.

"Thanks again Everest, I'll see you later!" He waved smiling.

"No prob. See ya later too Mr. Ken Dally. Tell Barbie doll I said hi!" I joked smiling back at him.

"Hahaha, oh boy if I tell her that you better have a coffin ready!" He joked back. I couldn't help but chuckle. I can never beat his sense of humor. After that he walked out. I heard his fire engine start up and drive away.

And soon the smile on my face relaxed. Welp, there he goes again... I propped up my chin on the top of the couch's back staring at the closed door.

"Hey, Everest did Marshall go home?" Jake asked from the kitchen.
