KJ decided to go to her gym and workout so she could clear her mind.

Amir lying to her wasn't making sense, so she was doing the one thing that brought her a bit of normalcy.

Today, she decided to pop into the Pilates class. Recently, she had hired someone to teach it twice a week, once in the morning and once in the evening. But since KJ was busy with other things in the gym, she let her assistant handle the hiring process, now would be her first time meeting the lady.

"Hi, have y'all started yet?" KJ asked as she opened the room door.

"Heyyy, we're just stretching. You can grab a mat and join!" The lady smiled.

KJ nodded and headed to back to grab a mat. Once she came back, she laid it out and began following along.

As the class continued, she caught herself continuously eyeing the instructor. The girl looked really familiar to KJ.

Soon, the end of class came and everyone began to leave.

"Hey, so I'm KJ-"

"Oh! I'm Kaliyah," the instructor smiled wide.

"We met at the mall and exchanged numbers remember?" She added since KJ looked a little confused.

"Ohhhh, I'm so sorry. I knew you looked familiar but I couldn't really remember. How have you been?"

Kaliyah smiled "I've been good, I just started to ease back into pilate classes since I had my baby so this is real exciting for me!"

"I'm glad, the class was really fun too." KJ told her.

"We never texted each other, which is partially my fault. I just was so busy with my baby, you wanna hang sometime, maybe towards the end of this week?"

KJ thought about it then nodded.

".. Um I just can't do Friday." KJ said, remembering she was meeting with Ximora, her dad, and their other sister.

"Oh same. I have a little family outing." Kaliyah told her.

"Let's do Sunday brunch," KJ suggested.

Kaliyah smiled "I literally love brunch."

"Ight well I'll text you about this place I know." KJ said as she grabbed her book bag.

"Okay, that sounds good. Text me when you get home safely." Kaliyah said.

"Girl you sounding like someone mama, but I will" KJ laughed as she walked out.

Once KJ made it to her car, she powered her phone back on, since Kaliyah had the class silence them.

KJ rolled her eyes as she read the other messages and started her car.

She honestly didn't want to go back to the condo, but she also knew that avoiding Amir wasn't very possible. On the drive home, KJ concluded that she definitely needed her own place, especially after all of this.

"Where you been at?" Amir's voice sounded behind her as she walked through their parking garage.

KJ decided to ignore him, and continued to walk to the elevator.

"Kamari stop fuckin' playing wimme," he said.

As he sped up to catch up with her, KJ sped up to get away from him.

In the end, Amir succeeded and grabbed a hold of her arm.

KJ let out a breath and came to a full stop.

"Why you won't leave me alone Amir?"

"Mane ion know what yo fuckin problem is.. every fucking week something wrong and you tryna run." He let out a dry chuckle.

She scrunched up her face before talking. "Bruh what are you talking about? Nigga you caused all of this."

"How I cause this?"

"Mane what? Amir, you literally keep lying to my face about everything"

Amir let out a breath as KJ started walking again.

"I just really wanna be left alone right now.."

"Good morning mama," Chris smiled as KJ walked into his kitchen.

KJ tried her hardest to stay at the condo with Amir, but she really needed space. So she called Chris to see if she could spend the rest of her night at his house.

"Wassup big dawg, what you made to eat?" KJ said looking for pots and pans.

Chris looked at her sideways before speaking.

"Girl I don't cook.."

KJ returned the same look before sighing.

"Imma make some omelettes."

Chris made a face again "Ion got no eggs,"

"..Okay, you like pancakes?"

"KJ, if ion cook you think I just got shit in my fridge?"

KJ let out a laugh "You want Waffle House?"

"Yea lemme get my keys." He chuckled.

Soon, the two were settled in his car and pulling out of the driveway.

"You ready for tomorrow?" Chris asked as he turned out of his neighborhood.

"Mmmmm to be honest.. not really. But I'm excited at the same time." She told him.

"Ya sister is excited about y'all, she keep calling me." He chuckled.

In a way, hearing that did calm KJ down and make her feel better but she was still nervous. Up to then she was having doubts about meeting Chris' other daughter. This whole situation consumed KJ with a lot of emotions, some weren't so positive.

"Ight get out my car." Chris said as he parked right in front of the Waffle House.

"Tuh.. I move when I'm ready"

Chris shook his head as he turned the car off.

KJ scrunched up her face as the AC cut off and heat immediately rushed into the car.

"Ight I'm coming," she laughed and unbuckled her seat belt.
