PREVIOUSLY (Nie Yunghe's P.O.V.): After a short while we separated to do our own things; Lan Yibo returned downstairs, Jiang Wanyin, Lan Wuxian, Jin Rulan, Jin Yonghoon and Jeon Jeongguk stayed in the room catching up, Lan Sizhui stayed by Jin Ling's side, while my Lan Win and I went back to the room to get towels and other things before he took me to the cold spring. It still boggled my mind a little to know that this Lan Clan from GusuLan were able to have a spiritual cold spring down in Lotus Lakes. I wondered how they'd found it, or if there was an entrance or gateway that was hidden to take us there.

3rd Person's P.O.V
[LAN FOCUS]

Lan Wuxian was a little concerned when his husband stopped suddenly part way down the stairs; his body becoming rigid, golden hazel eyes glossing over, his skin flushing a sickly colour, and sweat beading on his forehead. Lan Yibo's eyes lit up with an eerie glow as he spoke;

"Time is here, time is now, the sand falling through the hourglass much too soon,
Death will seek us, hunt us to our doorstep,
But the decision is his, if its a bane or a boon."

As soon as Lan Yibo had finished speaking, his legs collapsed from under him. If it wasn't for Lan Wuxian who had rushed to be by his side, Lan Yibo would have fallen on the stairs and probably injured himself very badly. Lan Wuxian carefully lowered his husband to lean against his chest, leaning his golden-eyed husband's back against him while he wiped the sweat with the crisp white handkerchief that he always had with him (it was a gift from his husband so of course he'd have it on him always). He worried about his husband when this happened, and hoped it wouldn't cause too much distress.

"Jiang Cheng! Come here!" Lan Wuxian called out to his brother, who was still inside the room halfway up the stairs.

"Why? What's wrong that you need my help? Can't you move yourself, you pampered -" Jiang Wanyin poked his head out of the door while he was cursing out his senior brother, but stopped as soon as he saw the 'great Hanguang Jun' sitting against his brother on the floor. The Jiang Clan leader hurried to his brother and brother-in-law.

"Wei Wuxian, what did you do this time?" Jiang Wanyin asked, a little shaken by the fact that the immoveable jade Lan Yibo was on the floor, panting and looking like he'd just finished fighting in the battle of the Nightless City. Jiang Wanyin was also not expecting his brother to look at him with fierce determination in his eyes, violet becoming ringed with red, and an aura that promised death.

"He's on his way. Help me bring Lan Zhan to our room and we'll go over it when he's recovered." Jiang Wanyin was definitely glad to not be on the receiving end of whoever had pissed off Wei Wuxian - or threatened his family. Together, the brothers stood Lan Yibo up, slinging one of his arms over each of their shoulders and aided him back upstairs to the tea room. Lan Wuxian insisted that his Lan Zhan be placed on the daybed nearest the fireplace and started the fire, the white sage and sandalwood shavings amongst the wood scenting the room as the heat dispersed into the room.

"A'Yuan, I need you to get a bowl of cold water and a cloth. A'Ling, go downstairs and get Jinhong Eijirou to make a pot of butterfly pea flower, rosewood, white jasmine and chamomile tea. Bring it back as soon as it's ready. Jiang Cheng, hand me that jar of Emperor's Smile, please?"

"Yes Senior Wei." The young men both bowed properly and scurried off to complete their tasks, hoping they would get answers later if they did as they were told now. Jiang Wanyin swallowed a mouthful of the Emperor's Smile before passing the jug to his martial brother.
