Aaliyah"Thank you for coming, Aaliyah. Take a seat, I already ordered some drinks."
"Oh, thank you. that wasn't necessary."
"I hope asking you to Highbar's makes up for me dragging you out."
"You didn't drag me out. That's what I'm here for, I don't mind working on a tight schedule. I'm happy to help."
"I think it's more than that."
He's right, I don't make these exceptions
until now, I guess.
"I knew I picked the right person."
He leans forward and he picks up his drink.
He is not going to bring up the book again is he?
Do I wish he would?
His eyes meet mine and I rub my legs together
"So to business. Did you bring the list of properties that you found? Let's see it."
"I—"
My head turns as a woman confidently approaches our table with a big smile on her face
"Its great to see you Taehyung! I barley recognised you. You look..... grayer."
What? He looks like he doesn't have a single gray hair.
"What a coincidence Peach, I haven't heard anything about you in quite a while. How is the husband?"
Peach deflates a bit at his question, obviously not wanting to talk about her husband to someone like Taehyung.
"He's just great. I've been tracking your success, I heard about your latest signing-"
Taehyung looks sharply at her and holds up a hand "ah, yes thank you. But work talk is blunt, especially if you're out for pleasure."
"Oh, of course I'm sorry. I'll let you get back to it then."
After throwing me a sharp smile, she walks casually away from the table.
Hmmm, if I didn't know any better, I would say Taehyung doesn't wants me to know about his job. This isn't the first time he's avoided the subject Should I ask him about it? I'm just so damn curious
"So, I know you just said no work talk.....but I'm curious, what do you do for a living?"
"Aaliyah, I don't want to talk about me. I'm interested in you.....and what you can do for me."
