Having pushed past the reporters camped in front of Martha and co publishing, I rush into Taehyung's office, breathlessly.
I close the door and turn to face Zarah, Peach and Taehyung.
Oh great, this should be fun.
Peach is the first to talk "Good, you're here and just in time to hear our magical solution."
"Already?"
Zarah steps forward "I'm just going to come forward and say that the news report is shit. As the real author, I'll confirm that Taehyung didn't steal the diary."
Peach nods agreeing on everything Zarah says, probably because the planned all of this while I wasn't here "it's the simplest solution and it means we can all move forward with the deal. No one outside this room will be the wiser."
I throw a glance at Taehyung, who's standing kinda like stiff, that's what I think. I don't know if I should ask about his opinion, he doesn't want to talk to me probably. You know what, fuck it, he's acting all childish with me "Taehyung, is this plan agreeable with you?"
Clearing his throat and loosen up his tie a little he speaks up "It was mine, so I'd think so."
"Oh..." damn, would have never guessed that...
"Well, what do you think, Aaliyah? You know, Zarah doesn't have to come forward."
"What are you talking about?"
"With all due respect to Taehyung, this is going to ruin his company. I'm giving you the chance to j—"
Taehyung interrupts her "You're not an innocent in this either Peach. I could just as easily ruin you."
He's right, she's so manipulative oh my God "Peach, if you try anything, I'll come forward just to tell everyone the truth about you."
Peach scoffs, then shrugs "it was worth a try."
Breaking the momentary silence, all of our phones go off with a news alert, making me jump "this can't be good." And when I read it my stomach flies into my throat "shit!"

Taehyung has me sit down off to the side and he wraps his arm around me, trying to calm me down.
