The hour of moms departure was now upon us. Cole and i awaited downstairs as it seemed she and dad disappeared, we had an idea of what they were up to, but that's none of our business.
Mom and dad came down, they looked a little flustered and mom said, "a so long meal should be on the cards for tonight? We could invite Cole's parents?"
Cole and i said, "another time, we need to just spend time with you, we don't ever know when we will see you again?"
I called Piper and Paige and told them this was moms last night with us, they were to bring the children and say goodbye for now. Piper said that she was waiting on Leo coming home, Paige said that she would be here when Henry got home.
Mom and dad began cooking, we had a visit from Prue, she said, "there's a bounty hunter looking for Elizabeth, she needs to go into hiding with Benjamin as soon as possible."
I called Elizabeth to warn her, she said she was expecting the news, but she has a place they won't ever find her. It turns out Elizabeth's best friend is a nun, she could offer a safe space should this day ever arrive. Elizabeth thanked me for letting her know. I promised a meal once the dust settles.
Cole was worried sick about his parents, but i told him where they are they're safe. I haven't had a premonition that anything bad will happen to them. We sat down for a meal, i noticed Cole just pushing his food around the plate, he was dying to get to them, i could feel that tension across the table.
Cole excused himself when the boys began crying, he brought them to the table to feed them. I expressed milk for Chris and Wyatt and there was some left over.
Cole fed them to take his mind of his parents. Mom and dad finished their food, they took the twins to cuddle before mom had to go.
Cole got up and held mom, "Patty, thank you for expelling the demon side from my mother. My mom and i will be forever grateful."
My mom replied, "you're welcome, she will be fine as will you all. I can't promise you won't have a bumpy journey, but stick together. Don't stop talking to each other like you did many years ago. I feel that's what drove you apart, you're a great man and a great father. Take care all of you."
Mom kissed us all and said to dad, "you are still wonderful," as she winked at him.
Mom was gone. Piper never made it to the meal, neither did Paige. I think it was down to the fact they would have to say goodbye to her again.
Dad took the boys and played with them and he quipped as he was lying on the floor, "Cole, when your mother is out of danger, can she extend my life. I'm getting too old to be on the floor these days, i was too old when Wyatt and Chris were born."
Cole replied, "well Victor, if that's what you want? Think about what you're asking?"
Cole and dad bathed the boys while i asked the maids to clean up. I ran a bath and began thinking about what dad asked? It really wasn't like him? I had finished my soak in the bath.
I called dad to the lounge and i asked, "were you serious, when you asked if Cole's mom would extend your lifespan?"
Dad replied, "of course, why wouldn't i want to live longer? Wouldn't you?"
It certainly put a thought in my mind, maybe if Cole and i extended our lifespans, we would have longer with the boys? I'm not young anymore, neither is Cole. Soon our bodies will be screaming this at us. We learned the bounty hunters found Elizabeth and Benjamin, i asked dad did he manage to sell the cabin in The Adirondacks?
Dad replied, "it's currently in escrow, but I'm still waiting on the legalities to work themselves out."
We told Elizabeth to go and hide there. Elizabeth had a spell to take them there, it was like the spell the gypsy used years ago. They arrived in the cabin safely and we told them we would join them soon. We asked Elizabeth to use her magic to help us live longer?
Elizabeth replied, "i can, but it'll be dark magic i will need to use. Will you guys be ok with that?"
I replied, "yes, my dad would like to as well."
Elizabeth told me to collect some spell ingredients, that she would begin working with what she's got until we get there. Elizabeth gave me the recipe to the spell that would help us get there. I brought with us the ingredients, Elizabeth added them to the potion. We had to wait until midnight to drink them, it's when the moon would be at its highest in the sky.
We drank the potion at midnight, we never felt anything, Elizabeth said we wouldn't, but any aches and pains we had would be gone. Cole always complained of a bad back, i had pains from all the demon fighting, the birth. They were all gone.
Dad felt great, his arthritis cleared up. Leo orbed in, he yelled, "Phoebe, Cole and Victor are you guys out of your minds? That potion was dark magic, the same tonic used to keep Benjamin alive, this means you guys won't age ever again."
I told Leo to leave us, that his orbing in would've alerted demons to Elizabeth's whereabouts. Piper called furious, but i told her to mind her business again and reminded her that she, Paige and the Elders have oppressed me for a long time.
Piper mumbled, "huh?" She hung up.
We stayed up in the cabin for a few weeks, it was great to spend time with Elizabeth and Benjamin. They decided to return home, Cole and i would return to our home as well. It was perfect timing, the legal issues with the sale of the cabin were ironed out. Cole wanted to go back to work, i began on my column again, it was between the feeding and diaper changing. It was then i hired a nanny. I had more energy, Cole too. Elizabeth and Benjamin finally found a way to get rid of demons tracking them down once and for all. Elizabeth for the last time tapped into her dark magic and cloaked herself and Benjamin for the rest of their lives. They could live out their lives in the home they built all those many years ago. We contacted dad to see how he was doing? Dad was on vacation, we told him to watch out for demon women, he's a Halliwell, he's like the rest of us a demon magnet.
Dad asked not to be reminded and told me, "don't worry darling, there won't be another Doris."
"Well, we shall wait and see dad."
He and i laughed so hard, tears streamed down our faces. For the first time in a long time, i felt free. I didn't realise how suffocated i was, i adore my sisters, my nieces and nephews, but living under the rules of Wicca has oppressed me. I decided that i needed to speak with Elizabeth, to form a coven for magical witches to feel free or freer. I have decided that i am no longer a charmed one.
This of course relinquished my right to a white lighter, but i have a new family now. I have dad, Cole and the boys, i have my in-laws. I for the first time feel happy, sure I've had happy times in the past, but all were fleeting. I am finally home. We decided to find a place as close as possible to Elizabeth and Benjamin, we needed to keep the demons away from her, so we decided to move around two hours away. It'll be perfect.
