Several nights had passed since Hiro and Zero Two were rescued from the Garden by the Princess that fateful day. Papa and the adults had never returned to take Hiro and Zero Two back to the Garden like they had tried when Hiro escaped with Zero Two, a relief for both Hiro and Zero Two.

Since then, both Hiro and Zero Two had been adjusting to their new live in the home of the Princess, the Klaxosaur Palace. The Klaxosaur Palace was a massive complex, a maze of rooms, hallways, and courtrooms, once being a grandiose palace of the Klaxosaurs now buried deep underground after millions of years. Despite being some millions of years old, the Palace had adapted to be a self-sustaining ecosystem in itself, hosting artificial gardens inside and AI to do all of the work that would originally be for servants to do.

Hiro and Zero Two were inside the royal library. The library was a massive room of the palace, being over three stories high of shelves full of ancient books. In the center of the library, Hiro and Zero Two were lying on the floor, with Hiro teaching Zero Two basic English so that they both can understand one another. In the Garden, Zero Two was barely taught anything by the adults and the Doctor so Hiro decided to take self-initiative to teach her everything that she needed. Zero Two was a surprisingly fast learner and now learned to speak and could now understand what Hiro said now.

Zero Two was writing the alphabet down on paper while Hiro looked on. After finishing writing, Zero Two showed Hiro the entire alphabet she wrote.

"What dah-lii think?" Zero Two asked.

"Wow, you're making great progress Zero Two, looks like you mastered the whole alphabet now," Hiro complimented, "I'd say you're learning quite fast Zero Two, heh, even more so than I did..."

"Dah-lii proud of me!" Zero Two shouted gleamingly.

"Now Zero Two, we can move onto sentences," Hiro said, "Here, I'll write it down real quick, and then you can read it back to me."

Hiro turned around, writing something down on a piece of paper. Zero Two looked on, tilting her head curiously at what Hiro was doing.

"Here, all done now," Hiro said, "Now Zero Two, read this back to me."

Turning around, Hiro held up the paper to Zero Two. Zero Two stared hard and squinted at the sentence that Hiro wrote, trying to comprehend what it said.

"Dah... kwick... rown... fox... jump... ovah... dah... azy... dawg..." Zero Two sputtered.

"Great job Zero Two," Hiro complimented, "Did you know that what you said contains all letters of the alphabet?"

"Wee-lii?" Zero Two asked.

"For sure, it was little something that I learned from an English book that I read back in the Garden," Hiro continued, "I'll teach you more about stuff like in future lessons..."

While Hiro continued to teach Zero Two, faint footsteps could be heard in the distance. The Princess then appeared out of the shadows in the distance, looking curiously at what Hiro and Zero Two were doing.

"Oh little ones, what are you doing?" the Princess asked, curious.

Hiro slightly jumped, barely noticing that the Princess had entered their chamber.

"Oh, well... I'm teaching Zero Two how to read and write!" Hiro quickly responded, "She's learning very quickly."

"Da-wii help me spweak and wead!" Zero Two commented.
