I was standing in front of the mirror with a white silk wedding dress that hugged my body liked a second skin revealing all my curves while exposing my left leg through its slit that leaded up to my mid-thigh.
After a while I would be walking to the altar in my father's arms, putting the most beautiful smile on my face, so no one would understand the pain and sacrifice i have to take in tying my life with a person who I have nothing but hate.

Today will be the first time after so many years that I will see him face to face and I can not help but feel this tightness in my chest as the minutes to go towards him approach. It feels like the threads with which I had sewn the heart are opening one by one and blood is flowing. It hurts me, it tears me apart.

After a few minutes while I was waiting for the door to knock and my father to enter, there was standing my secretary who handed me the phone which I had left aside, in preparation for this beautiful important day. (note the sarcasm)

I had a lot of phone messages but what caught my attention the most were the 24 missed calls from Ev who later had sent me a message saying she had discovered something important.

I was so worried that I tried to get her on the phone a few times but in vain, it always went to voicemail. A feeling as cold as ice spreading in my lungs traveled through my chest. Now I was very worried, but there was nothing I could do when my father came in the door of the room, ready to hand me over to the man I was going to marry today.
If I were to surrender now and leave everything behind to seek Ev, Miles would suffer the most of all and I could not allow such a thing.

I might sound selfish or maybe not a good friend, but Miles is my everything. I owe him a normal life.

"Are you ready for the most beautiful day of your life ?" my dad said with a devilish smile on his face knowing that everything was a facade.

I did not want to show my emotions to a man who never cared and I decided to remain silent by nodding and placing my arm on his.
The closer I got to the altar the more I thought about Evelin, now there is no turning back and the only thing left is to pray, pray for Ev to be well and save me from this hole where I was thrown and not alone.

The bell began to ring and a sweet music set in background, causing everyone to turn their heads at the entrance to the church. As soon as the door was opened I could heard the sound of heels knocking on the floor so they can come to me.

My heart started to tremble as if it were a child on the first day of school, I had not felt this emotion in a long time. My eyes had not seen her for years and probably could not remember very well, but my heart seemed to have met her every day and made her a friend that can recognise very well.

I had never in my life thought that I would see her dressed like this in white, in a dress that hugged her body so beautifully, that I could not take my eyes off her shapes.
In all these years she had changed a lot and in the most beautiful way possible, she had already become a real lady as she had always dreamed. Lost in thought I did not notice that they had already approached me and it was time to take our oaths.

"Take care of my daughter, she's my light." Her father said when he handed me her hand and i couldn't stop myself from noticing the look on her face after that.
I didn't know if it was from the words of her father or my hand in hers that made her look that way.

Her hand touched mine and small shivers spread through my body, a cold sensation, but which filled me full of emotions, traveled through my body.

While the priest was speaking my mind could not concentrate because all I could think was her. My eyes went to her neck, which was almost bare and exposed, the hair that used to go to the bottom of her back now did not even touch her shoulders. I was curious and could not stand without speaking to her, so I approached her and whispered close to her.
