A pleasant and tempting aroma teased my nose as I placed one by one a bunch of roses in the vase. After I finished, I stayed for a few minutes to admire their beauty, whose white color went perfectly with the honey-colored furniture of the living room.
Sometimes I would like the mind to be a camera, to capture the beautiful moments and keep them hanging deep in it, because one day the roses will dry and in their place will be just an empty vase.

But maybe this is what makes memories more beautiful, you search for them in your depths and when you have a hard time finding them, you realize how valuable they are and how much you miss them.

As I took a deep breath and got ready to head to my room, I heard the door open.
Looking at the clock, it was almost 1:00 p.m, the time when Jay and Belle got home from school.
I followed their steps towards the kitchen as they did not see me.
Jay put a small box on the table and then went to sit on the couch, while Belle watched her brother's steps curiously, he looked strange today.

"What is this?" I asked, looking at the box curiously. Jay took out his phone and started playing on it, as if he wanted to avoid answering.
"It's a gift." Belle teased as she looked at her brother with a mischievous look.

"Really?" I asked again, excited. Then I approached him on the other side of the couch. "Is it from a girl you like?" He looked up to me and rolled his eyes to turn them back to the phone again.
"No!" He blunt out.
"A new girl came to class." He explains. "I think she wants to make friends, that's why she gives me cookies." He finishes the sentence with his eyes still focused on the phone.
"Do you like her?" I asked as I watched Belle go and open the box.

I looked at her and signaled for her not to touch the cookies, she looked at me with her lips pressed together in sadness and put it back.
"You can eat them Bell." Jay said. "I don't like cookies."
"That's rude Jay." I snapped. "A gift should be accepted and if she asks how the cookies were, you should be honest." I continued angrily.

"I have no intention of becoming friends with her. She's weird." He said as he tossed the phone aside and laid back comfortably on the couch, closing his eyes.
"Why is that so?" I asked, curious.
"Apart from her ginger hair, which I find intriguing, she keeps smiling at me all the time. " He said.
"Mama Jay can't like the girl with ginger hair because he already has a girl he likes." Belle teased again and Jay immediately jumped to his feet, running to cover her mouth with his hand.

Omg! My baby has fallen in love.
Belle tried to protest by pushing her brother away, but in vain. Then she stomped his foot hard and ran away coming to me.
"He even keeps her picture in his room. She's blonde and...." She was about to continue, but Jay kept pulling her back to stop her from talking.

"Why are you so loud? What are you waiting for to get ready? We have a birthday to celebrate." My handsome husband spoke entering the living room. He came closer kissing me on the forehead as he took off the jacket he was wearing and Bella immediately went into his arms.
"Daddy save me Jay will kill me!" She acted innocent as Anh gave Jay a stern look.
"Let's discuss this when we get back. You have 20 minutes to get ready and the countdown starts now." Belle and Jay looked into each other's eyes and ran towards the stairs at the same time.
"Be careful where you put your short legs." Jay teased her and she kind of pushed him and ran away. They are a nuisance even though they have grown up quite a bit.

"They never grow up." Anhriel said as I rolled my eyes and he pulled me into a hug.
"I missed you an ocean!" I said as I kissed him on the cheek.
"Me too!" He kissed me on the lips. "I love you!"
