44- Hackathon (3)

Elder Song brought Rizi and Team to their workstation.

Rizi observed her surrounding.

The setup of the event was indeed extravagant.

They have completely changed the interior look of the building for this event.

The ground floor was the competition floor, where everyone was busy setting up their respective workstations. Lots of cables and wires were spread cross the floor.

She looked upwards and saw the top floor was reserved for VIP and VVIP guests such as business tycoons, elites, judges, government officials, and sponsors.  It has individual glass sections separating each VVIP room.

Waiters and servers were serving them with drinks and snacks.

She sighed inwardly, 'Money and Power can do anything!'

She walked towards her workstation.

There were three workstations in one row at a distance of 15 feet.  Their workstation was the cornered one.  A rectangle wooden desk with three comfortable chairs.

It also had multiple charging socket inbuilt on the desk. At the corner, there were three glasses covered with floral coasters and a bottle of mineral water.

She observed the other two teams in red and yellow clothes glaring at them with murderous intent.

There were three laptops already placed on their workstation.

"Well, we have to use their laptop. This is going to be fun." Zack rubbed his hands excitingly.

He and Abby placed their bags and started setting up their workstation.

"Hell Yeah... Let's be quick and complete the set-up." Abby spoke with equal gusto.

They were excited like primary school kids.

"A1, do you need anything else?" Elder song politely asked Rizi. He cannot speak her actual name on the floor afraid to reveal her identity.

"No Elder Song, thank you for your help.." Rizi understood his concern and gave him a respectful bow.

"Uh. A1, we might need an anti-signal jammer!" Abby spoke while pointing towards the desk of the other two groups in their row.

"Don't worry about it. I have already arranged an anti-signal jammer under your desk. You can freely concentrate on the event without worrying about these small side issues. I already knew some of these mischievous folks had brought signal jammers inside to interrupt the competition." Elder Song spoke confidently.

"I am grateful for your help," Rizi spoke underneath her mask.

Her eyes turned into crescent-shaped indicating that, right now there was a beautiful smile beneath this black mask.

Suddenly she felt someone looking at her. Her instincts and senses were sharp, so she randomly turned her head upwards towards the source and her eyes met with Zain's green ones.

Those familiar green eyes!

Whom she had stupidly believed, and gave her heart just for him to break it into million pieces!

Irony was her son got those familiar green eyes from him!

Rizi froze for a fraction of a second but quickly recovered.

A myriad of emotions and past betrayal flickered in her eyes like a wave.

Her eyes went dark for a split second, but she hastily turned towards Elder song, breaking the eye contact with him.
