Happy Birthday.

I woke up receiving a message from Easton, greeting me. Hindi ko nga inaasahan na saktong alas dose niya iyon isesend. May galing din sa mga kaibigan ko ngayong umaga. I replied one by one a thank you before getting up.

Today is sunday and we don't have a class. Nothing should be highlighted, but today is exciting and special.

January 23, my birthday.

Hindi ko halos mamalayan ang taon at hindi makapaniwalang kaarawan ko na naman ngayon. My Grandparents want to throw a party but I refused. Hindi ko alam kung nakailang beses na pilit si Abuela na magpaparty pero ako ang may ayaw. I'm okay with a simple celebration.

After fixing my bed and washing my face, I heard a knock from the door so I tore off my eye sight from the calendar and walk towards the door to open it. It revealed my brother.

“Morning. You have visitor downstairs.”

I arched my brow. “Who? Mamaya pa darating sina Alisha, ah?”

I even had a side glance on the clock to make sure. Alam kong sila lamang ang maaring pumarito ngayon. It's seven in the morning now and based from what they told me, they'll be here at 10 or 9.

Alci shrugged. “The Lavarias guy?”

My eyes widen a fraction.

“What? Are you serious? Kailan pa?”

“Kararating pa lang...”

I shut my eyes hardly when I realized it. Oo nga pala at nasabi rin niya kagabi na pupunta siya ngayon. Why did I forgot that? Pero ang aga naman kasi niya.

I composed myself a bit.

“Tell him to wait a bit, I'll fix myself...”

“Okay,” my brother replied.

Pagkatapos niyang umalis ay naligo na ako. I took a quick bath since someone is waiting for me. Weeks been past yet Easton is still patiently courting me. Katulad ng sabi niya ay hindi raw siya magsasawa. Ewan ko na lang.

After taking a shower, I wore a jumper dress under is my white fitted shirt. After combing my hair and putting a minimize make up, I go down. Naabutan ko nga siya roon na kausap si Mommy.

“Oh, Ardi, is here! You have a visitor, anak!” With Mom's voice, I know she's easily pleased by Easton.

I wonder what he said to her so she likes him this much?

Nang makababa ako ay hindi rin naman nagtagal doon si Mommy, nagpaalam din siya na maghahanda ng almusal nang nandoon na ako. Naiwan naman akong kasama si Easton.

My eyes darted on him. Wearing a polo shirt and pants, he was holding a bouquet of roses with paperbag on his hand.

Nakatitig siya sa akin. I slightly smiled. Hindi ko alam kung ano-ano na naman ang sinabi sa kaniya ni Mommy. Daddy wasn't around because of work. Pero kilala naman nila si Easton dahil pinakilala ko.

He stand up from sitting.

“You look beautiful...” unang sabi niya.

I blink twice.

“What?” My face heated a bit.

Marahan siyang humalakhak. “Happy Birthday...”

I chewed my lip. “You're too early... Though, still, thank you.”
