You had to be fucking KIDDING!!

You watch in horror as Light walks in and waves at you. You had been purposely avoiding Light because you knew that L would immediately jump to interrogate him, making Light a new suspect. You had skipped school and avoided places where Light might be, all to prevent this exact scenario from happening. L isn't stupid; he realized you were avoiding someone. The person who provided you with that information—who could only be Kira—would be the one standing right in front of you: Light Yagami...

You watch as Light walks up to the counter, but right before he opens his mouth "Shhh! You do not know me" you whisper quite loudly

"Huh, what? I don't know you? Y/n I don't know what's got into you-" you quickly speak over him "Shut up! You'll thank me later but for now you do not know me, okay?!" you look at him urgently. he looks over your expression before sighing

"Fine, I'll amuse you. I was worried about my friend who hadn't shown up for school in a few days, so I was going to check if they were here but looks like they aren't. Do you know what's up with that?" Light crosses his arms and waits for your answer, almost knowing it would be a shitty excuse.

"Your friend is-" You look over to L who is now staring at you and Light. SHIT!You start to get nervous "They are... um, i-in some deep shit right now so-" You say while glancing directly at L nervously who was also looking at you. Light cut you off."Deep shit? You sure they just didn't want to go?" Light raises his eyebrow

"Oh, I wish, but no. They are in DEEP Shit right now. And to be honest you should leave..." You look away from him and then to L. Light follows your eyes to see you staring at a strange man. Light furrows his eyebrows.

"Hey, who is that guy?" Light asked with a harsh tone looking at L."Nobody!" you say quickly and loudly.

In Light's mind some alarms go off. he sees a creepy pale messy guy who's keeping an eye on you intensely. you can imagine what he's thinking."Y/n, you clearly know him. Are you being threatened or... abused?" He asked with hints of worry in his voice."What? No of course not. Look light, I'm in some... legal trouble right now and I'll drag you in if you don't leave right now" you say as if that's normal to say.

This is when Light's face shows his worry as he glances back at you. "legal trouble? Do you hear yourself y/n? Are you okay?" As lights saying that you watch in horror as L gets up and starts walking over to the two of you. You start to sweat as you see L's face contort into the smile he does when he knows he caught someone, in this case, you.

"Y/n," L says and stares light dead on, Light looking at him as well with a stern expression "is there a problem here?"You groan "ryuzaki you know there is no problem here," you say just try to get out of the situation

"What did I do wrong?" He says knowing exactly what he's doing. he puts on a little act "I'm just trying to look out for my friend... say you sir" L looks at Light " Are you friends with y/n?"

You look at Light nervously "It's Light and, No actually we just met right now. i was hoping to order a coffee"THANK GOD! L hummed "Well, it can't be helped. The world is full of liars, isn't it Light?"

You and Lights eyebrows furrow. you can see Light was getting u angry "What is that supposed to m-!"

"Oh my god ryuzaki! You're freaking out the customers! You know what? We're leaving! You can't leave my side remember?" You say as you jump over the counter and grab L's arm, dragging him with you outside the coffee shop."Sorry to inform you about this last second, but Wammy is picking us up"

"Can you fucking believe it?! He's fucking embarrassing!" You shout at poor Mr.Wammy while he's trying to drive. L was in the back seat focused on his laptop."Dude, he was looking like a fucking creep the whole time I was working!" 

"Y/n please refrain from calling ryuzaki names," Wammy says like an innocent father trying his hardest.

"Sorry," you say and look out the window grumpy "he's just so annoying sometimes. I don't get why he's still up my ass? If I was Kira L would have found out by now? How would I kill people while L's breathing down my neck?"

"Well, I'm not with you 24/7 y/n" L spoke up "I still give you privacy in your room and in the bathroom, also at work, I can only watch you from a table, what happens when you go in the back? I have no clue. Maybe it'll be easier to trust you if you would stop all the lying?" L says bluntly"Lying? First Kira, now lying?" You roll your eyes

"Yes, you became quite a liar since we last spoke all those years ago. You tell me that you don't have school so you don't go, but an easy search says otherwise. You say that you and Light are strangers, but an easy search again shows that you go to the same school, have most of the same classes, and sit next to each other. And... you say you aren't Kira, is that a lie as well?"The car went silent. You didn't know what to say. You felt L staring at you from behind but you were too ashamed to look at him.

"So you're not going to say anything?" L hums"Why don't you just arrest me?" You say sadly. You already knew that the odds were against you so why not just give up?"Arrest you? So you're admitting that you're Kira?" L asked with a confused tone "That would be a problem" he said to himself

"Why is that L!?" You shout, already over all of this mess."I already told you" L paused "If you are admitting to being Kira that would be a problem because... I found myself still caring for you. I would hate to have to kill you y/n"You sigh. You always knew the L sucked at talking about his emotions, so this was a BIG step for him

"Ryuzaki I'm not Kira. I'm sorry for lying" You look at him with an empathetic look but you are still annoyed.

"It's fine, but I feel like it's safe to say you owe me now?" L says as the car comes to a stop"I owe you?" You raise your eyebrows at him"Of course, especially after all the trouble you caused"

You couldn't even believe this! L is threatening to arrest you since you are one of his only leads in the Kira case unless you be a spy for him! It's crazy that he's threatening you with this! and the person, The person you're spying on is... Light Yagami...
That brings you here, standing in front of Light's house. You think of the words L told you right before you got out of the car.
"Don't worry, you'll be safe if Light IS Kira, though that's just a suspicion. We put a number of cameras in the Yagami household. if he tries to hurt you in any way we will send several officers your way"
you rolled your eyes at his words It's not like you were scared of light, you were just uncomfortable with the situation. you didn't want to spy on your best friend but Light wasn't worth going to prison!

You walk up to the door and knock.
