I thought that breaking up with Mimi would be freeing but it's been quite the opposite. Breaking women's hearts is something that I have been doing since I was a teenager so it's not something that I feel bad about.
There's some guilt that I feel inside because Mimi is the first woman that I entered into a relationship with post rehab. She knew that I was damaged goods but she stood by my side as the world bashed me and all these stories started coming out about me.
Mimi was there.
Every move you make
And every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every life you stake
Micah's watching youI was given the luxury of having a video call with the legendary Sting who gave me permission to sample one of his songs. Every Breath You Take is a cult classic and now that I have more of a rasp to my voice, I thought that this would be the perfect song to cover.
Since I'm gone, you've been lost without a trace
You dream at night, you can only see my face
You look around, but it's me you can't replace
You feel so cold, and you long for my embrace
You keep crying, Micah, Micah pleaseDevante records me playing the guitar while I stand on the coffee table with one foot on the mixing board.
Micah's on the prowl
The Devils out in town...My manager stops the playback as the second verse begins and I flip him off because we were getting to the good part.
"This is going to be the album that people speak about for decades." Devante tells me and I smile at the music producer who has been killing it in the studio with me. "This is the first rock album that I have ever worked on and Micah Fox, you have converted me to the other side."
I stick my tongue out.
"Let's not get too ahead of ourselves." I scowl at Tom who has his arms crossed. "Recording an album is one thing but there is still so much to be done on the promotional side of things. The two songs that you released have been really well received but I need you out there talking about the upcoming album on various radio and talk shows."
"Lighten up, babe." I wink at him as I take a cigarette out from my pocket. "I've made you a lot of money and the album isn't even out yet."
