This morning was tough as realisation hit that I have a teenage daughter. I am the parent to a teenager which is so fuckin' insane because I never really thought about being a family man when I first got started in the entertainment industry.
My whole life revolved around making money, movies, music and fucking as many bitches as I could. I was pretty involved in the Hollywood party scene and that's when I came to know of Micah who would become a pivotal figure in my life. We would drink and take any drug that we could get our hands on as our lives were filled pure adrenaline.
I would be a liar if I said that I didn't shed a few tears because I wasn't there for my little girl during the first years of her life. I never got to hear her first words, watch her crawl or walk for the first time and I never saw her smile.
Lily and I have really only been in eachother's lives for the past five years which is pretty sad because she is an awesome girl. Things would be a whole lot more different if I had the wisdom that I do now back then.
"What are you fuckers doing here?" I laugh while opening the door to my friends who are all holding gifts for my daughter. "You did not get my daughter a bike."
"Yes, the fuck I did." Zander smiles big as he holds up the mountain bike. "She's a bit too young for a motorcycle so I had to settle for something that she could grow up with. I didn't know the style that she'd like so I kept the receipt incase she wanted to exch-"
"Shut up." I throw my arms around him. "It's fucking perfect."
Micah bought Lily a vanity set which I know she would love since she has really started getting into makeup and Jason got her a motorcycle jacket.
"I've got a bunch of people in the backyard so no swearing, taking drugs or acting out." I tell the guys as they set their gifts down by the gift table in the entryway which is already filled with a bunch of shit. "There's like thirty kids and their parents."
"Good thing we smoked on the ride over." Micah mumbles while running his hand through his hair. "Do you have booze?"
"We'll sneak off to the bar after we've cut the cake."
The next ten minutes are pretty funny as I take the guys out to the back where most of the guests are and the reaction that they receive are insane. People were already starstruck to be meeting me but my friends are on a whole other level now that I've slowed down my pace for fatherhood.
