Kate's POV
"Hurry up, Katie!"
"Are you serious, (Y/N)?"
I go up the seemingly long flights of stairs to Clint's house. "There are barely any stairs, just a few steps is all." (Y/N) sneers at how tired and worn out I am. I am so going to kill her. "Excuse me?"
"You've been excused!" she smiles at how high and mighty she looks. I sarcastically bow, looking up to find her playfully rolling her eyes. This girl.
"I'm worn out from kicking your dad's cronies all week!"
I went there, bringing up the events of the whole week. Come to think of it, this whole weekend was more eventful than I thought it'd be. One second, I'm eating at the same table as the one and only Hawkeye, and I'm fending off Norman Osborne the next. Through it all though, there was only one constant... my feelings for (Y/N). I think it's safe to say that I regret breaking up with her the first time, obviously. But I'm proud to say that I'm bound to not make the same mistake twice. Trust me on that.
"That's nothing compared to me, Bishop. I got stabbed, brought back and saved your asses with the wounds I'd gotten both before and after meeting Norman. What'd you have to say to that?"
I open my mouth to speak, but I see to it that I listened carefully. She actually did all that. I obviously have nothing to say to that. "Got me there." I admit defeat, which is something I don't normally do... keep that in mind. I go up the stairs, now on the same level as (Y/N). She smiles at me, and I smile back. I wrap my arms around her neck so as to not irritate her stab wound on her stomach.
"Speaking of... how's your wound?"
"Oh, it's nothing really."
She shows me her bandaged waist and I wince at the sight. Not because I was disgusted. Only because I remember what had gone down that day.
"You know I wanted to take you back to the safe-house that night, right?"
"Yeah, I know." (Y/N) gives me a tight lipped smile as she gave me reassurance that she knew that I'd never leave. "Kate, look at me."
She hooks her fore finger, lifting my chin up in the process. "I know you'll never leave."
Her words flow through my mind like a river over stone. The euphoric feeling courses through my body as she brings my face closer to hers. She gives me a small peck on the lips, which sends me back to the present moment. In my eyes, nothing mattered but now.
"I needed that."
"Trust me, I know."
I lay my head on (Y/N)'s shoulder as the chill evening breeze brushes past my hair.
"I love you, (Y/N)."
"I love you too, Katie."
We stay in this stance for about a minute longer until the front door opens.
"You two are honestly unbelievable!" Clint furrows his eyebrows, pinching the bridge of his nose. "What?" I ask him. He looks over at me, "In the time you had your little 'Notebook' moment, I unpacked, said hello to the others and started dinner."
